Bowles is absolutely garbage. No fire and tenacity. The amount of penalties we give up speaks volumes. After what 40 career games? Bowles still has no idea how to manage the clock. His time out with 3 minutes left was beyond idiotic!
The Jets are among the most penalized this year, while being among the least penalized last year. That makes me wonder if maybe it isnt all coaching. I understand that this is the NFL, and if your team is losing, you blame the coach. But looking at last years penalty stats vs this year, and it looks more random than anything else.
Very disappointed that Pennel was on the field after that absolutely inexcusable penalty. Bowles should have pulled him.. That guy would be cut if he was on the Pats. Can't play like that...

down 18-17 in the 4th quarter at the 1 yard line.. you need to be thinking touchdown or bust. That means 4 down territory!!! just thinking that way changes that entire sequence. Instead of throwing it all 3 times you run it at least once knowing you have 4 tries at it and you keep the defense off balance. But no matter what you don't kick a freakin 18 yard field goal in that situation. 20-18 does nothing for you. This is the NFL in 2017, teams are going to score again in the fourth quarter with all that time left. Of course 20-18 wasn't going to hold up so what good is it taking a 2 point lead there? so stupid. Look at how aggressive Carolina was on the other side of the field all game. They played like the team that was the home underdogs going for it all, not the Jets & Bowles. You can bet your ass Rivera would've gone for it on that 4th down
Totally agree....I just want an aggressive coach (as far as in game decisions) that understands the new NFL and how games are really being played...gimmie the next rams coach Overall this has been a strange year..I feel like Bowles has done a good job in getting the players prepared and ready to play each week but his in game decisions have been pretty poor I just don’t agree with his “old school” philosophy and hate playing not to lose..always have He’s probably good enough to make a playoff run but not good enough to win it all...probably a great DC is where it ends for Bowles
I am not sold on Bowles yet, he is pretty terrible at game management. Though, the team plays hard for him, there are to many unnecessary timeouts that lead to NOTHING, and to many flags(which can't really put all the blame on him) He has not progressed as a coach as far as managing the game clock
At some point there needs to be disciplinary action for players who habitually commit detrimental penalties which cost the team wins.
NY Jets NT depth cart: NT Steve McLendon, Mike Pennel Considering that the reason Pennel was on the field in the first place was that McLendon was injured, exactly who is it that Bowles was supposed to put in at NT when he benched the moron ????
