2K09 is fairly young, so let's say in the next 10 years, when his kid is old enough to know about football, the Dolphins make that swing and start winning constantly in the Division while the Patriots become an after-thought. Would it be okay to let your son become a Dolphin fan?

Depends on how young and talented they are.

I mean, if you posted the starters on offense and defense and they were alll young and talented, then sure, it would be perfectly valid to jump on their bandwagon.

Im thinking about forcing my kids to become Yankee fans. Unfortunately I think I am too late though as they are already Mets & Jets fans. I'm such a bad dad!

That's what I'm saying. You brought your son up the correct way 17a. My son will be a Jets fan like I am. The whole point is that both, father and son, share in that roller-coaster ride that is being a fan. We'll both go thru the highs and lows of this team.

The only thing that would add misery to a father is seeing his son celebrating away with assholes from another team, as they keep the Jets from winning a Super Bowl in the future. Think about that.

Word. I applaud 17a for being proud his son hates the Yanks.

In regards to the last scenario, I'd tell everyone he died of AIDS.

a son should never stray from his fathers path. as long as the father is a good father .

I wouldn't try to force him but I damn well would influence to at the bear minimum go away from toughest rivals, it would be hypocritical for me to do otherwise since my dad is a Yanks fan.

if your a big fan and a positive influence your child wont need much pushing.

i remember back before the 04 season my son was turning 2 and i had repeatly tried getting him to do the J-E-T-S chant to no avail.so one day i come home from agrueling 12 hour work day, walk in the back door, the dog greets me with a playful jump of excitement.only the dogs paw nails me in the balls.in pain my lil guy comkes running to see me and see me wearing my away al toon jersey and says,"Dadda J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS. i fell to my knees with open arms and me and my boys embraced in a father son moment.his first ever jets chant.

i will never forget that day for as long as i live.

My kid will be able to root for whoever he wants besides Boston teams. That is the only rule!

DCYF should take your kids away from you for doing that.
