This I agree wholehardedly with. Schotty should be gone, but he won't. Maybe someone will hire him. <fingers crossed>
I don't care about the officiating but Brick didn't move I watched it 3 times, the running into the punter was a flop and a half not a 15 yard penalty. The hit on Greene was helmet to helmet. Eric Smith's personal foul should not have been called since the ball was still in the air. Finally when a qb baseball slides they give up the play and they are not supposed to be touched.
Truth is, that the flag was late and IMO it was an attempt of the offical to nip it right there. The fact is that Smith Not just layed him out but he stood over him and that's when the flag came. When the hit 1st happened I was like FUK YEAH but for a split second we all knew the flag was gonna come because of the way he was looking down.... We all know that shit
Some bullshit calls and also many bullshit plays our boys left on the field. Snakebit all game in this one. THey played just well enough to make it really be painful.
I wish Harris (pretty sure it was him) would have just INT'd it and this wouldn't even matter. He's a MLB though, so I gotta give him a pass.
BUT THAT'S THE POINT!!!!! In any fairly called game you can say that. ...fact is When you have that many calls stacked up against you and the other team not getting penalized it tips the scale This game was absolutely and clearly one sided and it was pretty obvious.. again, not why we lost but definitely had an impact
5 yards for running into the punter would have still resulted in a first down I believe. I think it was 3rd and 2.
that's not why we lost. I know you're a big fan and I respect you as a poster, but you're reaching, man. This game wasn't that badly officiated. At all. And I'm the biggest homer you're gonna meet.
yes. And you know what? He should have fucking blocked it. A clear path to the punter, and you miss???? He deserved every fucking inch of that 15 yards.
He moved, I'm sure I saw his tounge brush up against his upper molars. Call was 100% BS....are you allowed to BREATHE !!!????!!!!
Seemed every fukin play today we missed by a half an inch...the fumbles, the Punt...everything.
This game wasn't that badly officiated. At all. And I'm the biggest homer you're gonna meet. Just for emphasis. I'm sick to my stomach right now. And the only reason I'm still posting is because there's actually decent people posting, but the officating played a minor, a minor, part of this game.
The Westermann thing isn't true. That fucker needs to block that punt. An invalid could have blocked that punt.
The D'Brick False Start which wasn't and the Late Hit on Mark that Wasn't Called when he slid feet 1st The Steelers got away with at least 3 holding penalties
I saw one where Coleman blitzed and Ben ran for like a 4 or 5 yard 1st down but in all honestly we didn't get called for any on offense so I'm not gonna stress over that. It wasn't a bad call but a reason why I hate this hitting a sliding QB, the plat in teh 1st quarter on 3rd and long when Ben ran for the 1st he motioned as if he was gonna slide so our guys slowed down and instead he goes head 1st and gets an extra 4 or 5 yards. That was the play when Pace slide.
I just found another BLATANT non call by the refs... If you have the game recorded goto 3rd & 2 10:50 in the 3rdQ. It's the play where Wilson Drops the pick. The STEELERS in 5 wide and 1 man goes in Motion. @ the end of his motion he not only goes forward BEFORE the snap, He also Covers up the Tackle when the tackle is already covered by the receiver to the outside which Makes this both, an illegal motion (Moving Forward @ the snap) and illegal formation. (2 players covering on the LOS) I wasn't sure at first but the camera is panned out and you clearly see the JETS coaches going NUTS!
So we'll get another twelve point, times new roman typed apology from the league for allowing such a piss poor officiating job, but it wont change who gets to play the fudge packers.
