Only a lost organization would start a 39 years old journeyman QB or a QB coming off a serious injury/missed the past two seasons because of it playing on a one year $1 million deal instead of their golden boy top three pick.

I know they are rivals but if the Jets are willing to trade TB then I could see the Bills being very interested now that AJ got hurt last night against the Browns. The Bills have to be desperate even with Allen playing well. Would the Jets trade with the Bills? They could ask for a nice return given the Bills desperation at QB.

I guess that anything's possible, but I would hope that they wouldn't trade with Buffalo, particularly giving them a quality starting QB.

The franchise tag would be I believe, the average of top 5 players at the position. Aprox. 28m .....way to much to keep Teddy.

The Jets would be crazy to trade a potential starting QB to anyone in the division. And those teams would be crazy to give up anything of real value to a division rival for a (partial-)season rental. The difference between winning the division and getting the wild card (home playoff games) is so important that you just can't risk giving someone else in the division what they need to put them over the top.

In any event I don't really think that Buffalo would be that desperate - they traded up for Allen, so they obviously believe in him. Miami, on the other hand, would probably kill for a healthy Bridgewater as their long-term QB, and there's less of a chance he'd actually want to stay there (they're pretty bad), but I still don't see them offering enough to make it worth the risk.

But Teddy is from Miami, why wouldn't he want to start there??

I hate the Dolphins so of course I'm paranoid he'll end up there even if we don't trade him there. My paranoia is that wherever we trade him, THEY send him to Miami. Not likely to happen, but that's my world.

I didn't realize he's from Miami, which certainly changes things (although not necessarily positively for him - plenty of players regret going home to play). I wouldn't be surprised if Miami would be more appealing to him as a result. That certainly makes it even more of a risk for the Jets to trade him there. I just don't see any good reason to talk to Buffalo, Miami, or New England.

I have no idea what they have to trade, but a very plausible match is Tampa Bay. They're without Winston for the first three games, and even after that he is a head case who hasn't really been all that good. And, of course, they're in the NFC, which is good for the Jets. And Tampa is only about 4 hours from Miami. In the AFC Denver and Jacksonville are obvious buyers, but IMO the Jets should insist on more in return from an AFC team.

Love Teddy and the story of how he's battled to come back from a possible career ending injury. But I wouldn't trade him to a divisional rival, why risk a good season in Buffalo? I'm not worries long term though, as much as I hate to say it and don't wish it on anyone, he's never going to string a long term injury free career together. He's a knee injury waiting to happen.

last year, at the trading deadline, the browns gave the bengals a 2nd and 3rd round picks for a.j. mccarron!
trade did not go through because the browns failed to file paperwork with the league on time.
if the jets are dumb enough to trade bridgewater, the bidding should START with a 2nd plus other pick.
the smart thing to do is keep him, sign him to an extension ( josh won''t be back next year, freeing up$10 million),
and then he can be traded if the offer is a boatload of picks like the eagles did with sam bradford.
try trading this offseason for nick foles and the eagles wanted a 1st round pick , plus...

Plus Tampa loves throwing 1st round picks our way.
Multiple 1st for Meshawn was maybe the best trade we've ever pulled off.
Netting a 1st for Revis coming off major injury and in contract year was a decent haul also.
    Let's keep that trend going!

I'm with you. If TB shines in Tampa, I'm convinced they would trade Winston in a NY minute.

I don't disagree with you, but to be fair the gold standard in New England once did that with Drew Bledsoe and it didn't really come back to bite them.

I would consider trading TB to San Diego if something happens to River's. They are in a win now mode. I would take a 2nd plus a stud back up OL. They have better talent in the front line as back up we have as starters. Just my two cents.

Also New Orleans could be a possibility. They are built to win now and have no backup quarterback who is a viable option. Drew Brees just never seems to get hurt.

This is huge. At the very least it gives us a gauge to measure and see the value of what some of these general managers are willing to pay for a backup (albeit mediocre talent). And that the second round pick was for a backup position!! If a starting quarterback on a win-now team gets hurt and lost the season the value would be even higher!

Darnolds bust potential is lower than BRW becoming a Pro Bowl QB. He was on a Pro Bowl squad but never really a pro Bowler

could argue that Teddy is actually younger and more proven than Jimmy.
if the knee looks fine, he should net just as much trade return.

Has nothing to do with anything today but thats total nonsense. He was a Pro Bowler. And in the playoffs.
