Actually the good runs going to waste had nothing to do with the play calling.

On the first "good run drive" Farve threw a INT in the end zone.

On the other drive we had back to back runs of 10 and 34 yards - but the next two plays were a fumble for a loss of 12 and a sack for a loss of 7 yards. That is not the coaches fault - its the players.

Wasn't Jones given the chance to punch the ball from the 3yd line only to get stuffed and "set up" that Favre pick? I know I'm using hindsight here to make this argument because Jones was running well throughout the course of the game, so there was no way to tell that he would get stuffed/stopped so near the endzone, but, this has been the 2nd game where he has proven he's not a goal line back. I don't know if LW could've done a better job, but we'll never really know. However he did do a good job and scored from 9 yards out in the 2nd half where if Thomas Jones had to run that play, he would've been brought down after picking up 3-4 yds.

Far as I'm concerned, Jones is 1-2 in games where he was used a goal line back to punch the ball in from a few yards out and hasn't delivered. I hope the CS is taking note of this and working out other possible GL situations. Maybe we should use LW more often in GL situations. At least he fights for extra yardage and falls forward as he's getting tackled.
