Wow, this came outta left field. Maybe a diversionary tactic to get us away from his horrid argument?
You have not been watching over the years, how almost every year the Jets seem to screw their season up. Just an a example the Marino fake spike. If we would have won that game the Jets would have been in first place. Instead we lost and did a nose dive for the rest of the season.
More likely a way to keep his thread alive. I think they have a name for that... it's coming to me...
Yes the season Tickets in my family go back to 83 so I guess I've been a fan since 83. The difference is I love what this team has done. I know it might be hard for you to get this through your skull but 9 other teams passed on Matt Lienart. Reggie Bush will not be a stud in NO w/o a good line which they tried to build. For all your bitching and whining I have not once seen you say they should have done this in that situation or this player would fit better in the 3-4 than this player. I lied this RB here instead of that one but you have done nothing but post one sentence garbage and told somebody they have no life. Maybe you should look in the mirror.
Apparently you haven't been watching over the past 5 years as Bradway ignored our offensive line. That in itself makes your argument senseless.
Your right but you also brought up the colts. And as I believe it was previously mentioned the Colts have and had plenty of first round talent at the skill positions. But still no SB. Also isnt the stat of 1st round QB who have won a superbowl slim. I thought I saw it on ESPN last week.
Your point being? If you are so miserable why don't you go root for Pittsburgh? Here's a tip the Jets are going to suck this year so go root for New England I've heard they are pretty good.
Someone tell me what the Steelers and Seahawks teams were based on? The running game and a great o-line? Thank you very much. LT: Walter Jones: 6th overall pick LG: Steve Hutchinson: 17th pick overall C: Robbie Tobeck: Undrafted (Chris Spencer: 26th overall pick) RG: Chris Gray: 5th round pick RT: Sean Locklear: 3rd round pick vs LT: Marvel Smith: 39th overall pick LG: Alan Faneca: 26th overall pick C: Jeff Hartings: 26th overall pick RG: Kendall Simmons: 30th overall pick RT: Oliver Ross: 15th overall pick
Hmm lets go down the list Big Ben: 1st round Brady: 6th round Brad Johnson: I wanna say 12 round Dilfer: Oh yeah 1st round but so was Ray Lewis and Ogden Warner: Lets see he was the UDFA out of Shop Rite Elway: 1st round about 15 years before though Favre: 2nd round Aikman: 1st round Young: I really don't remember Mark Rypien: Probably about the 7th round Montana: 3rd round Doug Williams: Not a 1st rounder Jim McMahon: Probably not a 1st round In that same time some 1st round QB's that well didn't exactly pan out David Klingler Kyle Boller Akili Smith Quincy Carter Andre Ware Ryan Leaf Jeff George Joey Harrington Todd Blackledge Chuck Long Can I put Pennington on this list?
Look, they could have drafted a waterboy at #4, as long as I don't have to root for Matt Leinart's shit-eating-clueless-smug-real-world-cast-member-wannabe grin for the next 10 years. That being said, LOVE the OL picks.
but they could have had Reggie Bush and all it would have cost is those 2 potential pro-bowl linemen!
There you go...come out of the closet and show whats really bothering you. Damn..it took 6 pages of nonsense to get to the point. I personally have no problem with you voicing your opinion...just be up front about it. Dont waste everyones time with a dumb pointless thread comparing how many teams ever drafted two Oline men and made the Superbowl. Some of us arent around as much as others...so its hard for us to see through the countless posts you have had describing whats really bothering you.
Wow Fact: All 50 Super Bowl champions have only 1 thing in common...great offesnive lines. It doesn't matter where you get good players from as long as they're winners. All signs point to Ferguson and Mangold being just that.
I'm sorry...everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially concerning the draft..but if you downplay the importance of a quality OL...you lack basic football knowledge. We are talking about, essentially, the best pass protector to come out of the draft in at least 10 years and the best Center prospect in quite sometime. 2 MAJOR assets for a team in need of help all over the offensive side of the football. W/ the way the value board worked out at our picks in the 1st round..to end up w/ the 2 best linemen in this draft, and arguably in the last FEW drafts, we could do a heckuva lot worse. Say what you will about taking skill players. But you cant argue that these 2 players wont add a solid foundation to start w/, dont have the capabilities to be all pro's, and didnt offer value at the spots they were selected. When you are rebuilding through the draft like we are/were...thats all you can ask for
