Now why would I name names? The thoughts here are the polar opposite of pointing fingers at individuals because all that does is get people defensive and create more rancor. The idea is to encourage more dialogue and acceptance of others' viewpoints without personal attacks.
Pretty sure Stokes is free to come back In 10 days or so, I think his banning was on July 6th of last year. Never had much of a problem with Junc but he would clog up so many threads and wouldn't concede any point even if it was abundantly clear he was proven wrong, let him stay in exile.
People started taking Junc personally, and that's when the endless name calling came into play. It wasn't always like that, especially when I first came here. I actually enjoyed his earlier debates, but it wasn't until certain posters just mercifully attacked him that he changed.
All well and good, but by bringing "them" up in the first place (and inferring that they've survived in spite of their more aggressive, antagonistic nature) you're then looking to have your cake and eat it too. If you're calling 'em out, put these "angels with dirty faces" names on it. jmo The great Antoine "Fats" Domino once cautioned against enunciating too precisely and I think it figuratively applies here as well -- nothing wrong with "muddying the waters" (pun intended) when the occasion calls for it. I catch shit here - ofttimes deserved, sometimes not but either way, no big deal. @Cman, just a guess: the only 'olive' you're interested in (as an angler) is a 'BWO' ? . : ) .
I only had a few back and forth with him and it was evident quite quickly that no matter the evidence against what he was arguing, he would always claim he was right. A dozen people would explain how he was wrong and he would continue on multiple posts in multiple threads claiming he was right, taking those multiple threads off topic. At any one time he could take the top 5-6 threads in the main forum off topic, that is why he got the ban hammer I am pretty sure. Some banned posters are just douches and some just clog up the board because they refuse to back down on anything, both types rightfully deserve their banning. I'm know I have stepped over the line before but never consistently and never with anything extreme. Juncs problem was he could never hit the "off" button.
I'm not sure you understand that the theme in this thread is one of conciliation, letting bygones be bygones. What purpose would be served by naming names? Again, it's not about who did what to whom, it's about moving forward with better attitudes for all.
Good idea. Either Manhattan or even maybe Florham Park area right before a Jets training session. We could eat something then head to watch the training camp.
Why are you ignoring me Grandpa? I already offered Florham Park area. Morristown has killer bars and restaurants.
So @Cman60 , @Royal Tee Who starts the meet up thread? August 5 is Gree/White scrimmage at Metlife. It is a Saturday and tickets are free. Seems like a perfect opportunity to meet up. I say start the thread and pin it on the main forum. Maybe @Petrozza and I can finally discuss Muslim influence in World Politics face to face.
lol... Funny thing for all the TGG GTG, tailgates etc... I usually let everyone else come up with the plan only cause the constant changing drives me nuts so I wait til it's decided on.. We've had some absolutely EPIC nights ...
Hmmm, organising a meeting in a densely populated area with accomplices. What could you possibly be up to Brook?
Not me. I hate this site, hate the posters, I hate the Jets, hate the stadium and I hate myself. Woe is me. An embittered old Jet fan. 75 years old ans still watching every game..
