I'm failing to see the big picture? If all it took was 'a little extra money' to lock the guy up, he would have it. His agent knows that after the year Jones had in 2008, this is most definitely going to be his last chance at a big payday. If you think that's going to amount to 'a little money', you should stop pretending that you would ever know what the big picture looks like. This happens with most backs that have had some measure of success up to their 30s.

Monitor the Cutler situation as closely as you like, it will waste a lot of offseason brain cells for you. And that's about it. But you're so sold on the Cutler trade, that you are letting it form your other arguments. You're planning on how the team is built based upon the FAT CHANCE that the Broncos would trade their #1 pick QB to a conference rival, if they trade him at all.

As far as TJ holding out, that is almost the norm with most players when they get to his physical maturity these days. There's even a chance that this 'holdout' is just a ploy for him to be able to skip offseason workouts and keep his legs fresh and stay uninjured. Which I definitely do not have a problem with.

The original post states that "he should get a little more money IF that's what it takes to keep his morale up". None of us know for sure what TJ and his agent are asking for, we're purely speculating.

IF he indeed is asking for a monster increase, I'm just as for telling him to go pound salt as you are.

You can bet that if it's 'a little extra money' that he's asking for, it's probably not a big enough issue to hold out on the team and have his agent go to the press. I certainly don't know what is going through his agent's head, but his agent is Drew Rosenhaus, so it is undoubtedly large images of dollar signs.
