Still , not correct about the comparisons, simply because he was drafted on the combines performance, do you recall? He was all physical ability and no football ability. Forget about the 14 sacks; it was his instincts and desire that were questionable, which I pointed out when the Jets drafted him. I never liked Gholsten because of this plus that he as was out of position when Mangini was in control of sketchy defense. Coples is in a very different situation - his role is already defined and Rex has a better grip of what the team's defense direction is.

Bottom line, Coples has the football mentality/instincts. Rex will lay down the path for him to travel to get the best out of him. That's why he will succeed.

Can't agree with athleticism part. Gholston had it also.. it was the instincts and desire that did Gholston in. Coples has those instincts, u can see it in the reels/highlites. Desire and attitude is the big question here which we have to rely on the Jets staff to make the call on. They met with Coples head on to talk about the past. Hopefully they are right....who are we to judge?

I love Coples. I think hes gonna be good. However he seems very cocky. If he does end up being a pro bowl caliber player, hes seems like he is going to want to get paid a ton of money. You can tell by his demeanor and lack of enthusiasm when he was drafted why people think he doesnt put his whole heart into the game. I would of much rather had Melvin "Short Arms" Ingram, seems like a much better team guy and would play his heart out all the time.

Sanchez wasn't a bad call on talent at all. He was a bad call on throwing him into the mix with a first year coach yelling Super Bowl at the top of his lungs with an offensive coordinator of questionable ability.

Then you change around the WR's every year and let the offensive line rot. What people don't get is that Mark Sanchez is going to be an excellent QB, not all-world like Peyton and Brady, but more than good enough to win a ring or two before he's done.

Unfortunately that is not likely to be with the Jets at this point.

I HATE that jets fans automatically want to compare new players to recent busts. Gholston happened and it's over. This kid is going to be very good for us.
