The Yankees did not celebrate anywhere near as much as the Mets, ys I criticized it b/c I thought then and I still think it was over the top. that was a WS-like celebration for clinching a crappy division they basically had clinched for 2 mos.

A grown man crying b/c he struggled in a game is worthy of laughter especially when he has that tough guy facade when he throws at batters.

From what I saw on TV they sure as hell did, you also have to factor in that Mets won while Yankees basically backed in.

So it WAS a jab, and I just proved you wrong. Pedro has a tough guy facade? LOL last few years he's been the goofy class clown. I haven't seen him in an altercation since like Gerald Williams

K, I gotta stop this now, have to study for two tests and ganggreen is a time muncher

"backed in"- that's such nonsense, we won the division by 10 games.

you haven't provemn anything, i said i joke around about the Mets but I don't make fun of them right after a big loss and I don't crow right after a big Yankee win.

throwing at karim garcia's head was mroe recent than him getting his ass kicked by Gerald williams.

Find some real proof then get back to me.

Threads like this are why I hate talking about baseball on TGG.com. Any good discussion is derailed by this artificially manufactured rivalry between the Yankees fans and the Mets fans and I can't help but wonder:

    Why?

I don't think it's "artificially manufactured" but I agree this kind of stuff on TGG is silly. There's plenty of "96" Yankee fans that will be getting an earful at work from me on Monday but to just randomly lash out at good Yankee posters on a MB is dumb.

I'm sure Mets fans would be hearing it. But you wouldn't, because you wouldn't be talking about it. I guess it could be a coincidence that you didn't say a single word about baseball until the Mets became a good team, though.

IMO i don't know why people act like there grandmother died when the yankees lose. Do they play for them, are there family members part of the yankees ? Its just a game thats it. I bet some of the players care less come the end of the season then some fans.

Oh please be quiet. Maybe you don't know what it's like to have a team be eliminated from the playoffs in embarrassing fashion, but I bet it didn't take you 5 minutes to get over Brien's two missed FG's in Pittsburgh (even though they were in that game the whole way).

You really have no idea. Totally clueless.

This just proves that you're trying to get a pathetic rise out of Yankee fans. 5 minutes ago you wonder why we're so pissed off about the Yankees, and now it seems so obvious to you all of a sudden.

    Just awful

You wonder why were pissed over a game? After Brien missed those field goals Im sure you were pissed. What if some Pats fan started to hound you about watching a real team play? Wouldnt you tell him to f**k off. Well it hasnt been a few days and your just going to get a reaction out of us.

yeah the yankees didnt celebrate as much because the yankees are spoiled...theyre a corporate machine...they dont enjoy the game and just cruise through things....is that a good thing or bad thing? i guess that depends who you ask....

a grown man crying because he wanted to pull it out for his team in a big spot leading into the post season is worthy of laughter? if it was mussina would it be funny then? probably not... poor guy...i guess daddy yelled at you when you were a kid and cried...

and its not a tough guy facade, its called pitching inside...its part of the game...unless your pitching to pay - rod a spoiled pussy

It's not about acting like a grandmother died, people have a vested intrest in their teams. People spend lots of money on tickets, and various cable packages so they can see their team play. People spend lots of money on merchandise so they can show off their team pride. My and your Mets have sucked for how long but I know I have been showing my love for the Mets for over 20 years. I even wear my Jets jersey in the offseason. It's my right to be pissed off if Wright becomes a paycheck collector and underproduces. It's my right to be pissed when I see Vilma yucking it up with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed after the Ravens kill our QB. If you don't understand that fans have passion for the teams they root for I'm sorry. IMO when the players stop caring for the game they should get out because there are lots of kids who played in the minors for years and never had an oppurtunity to play the game that would surely go play 3rd base for the Yankees if A Rod doesn't want to earn his 25 million.

yes a grown man crying in the dugout of a game is worthy of laughtrer and it is a tough guy facade. i'm not alking about throwing inside I'm talking about throwing AT players and throwing at heads. A tough guy doesn't throw a 70 yr old man to the ground then in the fight of '04 he ran into the clubhouse.
