There is a play that works every time in this league. The RB goes in motion from right to left, settling in the QBs left in the shotgun, then the WR to the right crashes towards the middle, taking the attention of the linebacker/safety. the RB then slips out to the empty space where the WR was. in short yardage/red zone it’s an easy 7 or 8 yard play, but can be used anywhere with Breece Hall, all he has to do is slip past a corner to make it a big gain. And he would But he got 0 targets against Denver and is likely going to be traded soon
Just trade him. Who cares. We aren't winning with him and next year he'll be gone anyway. Either there's a new regime that isn't going to hand big money to an RB or it's the current regime and he doesn't want to be back anyway. Between his health and the fact that he's an FA next year I cant see us getting more than a 5. I know he's good but he's handled almost everything the wrong way. Not saying he isn't justified to be sick of being here but I promise you it's possible to be upset and not post teenager shit all over social media. The only reason to keep him is if you think he'll get paid enough to get you something better than a 5th round pick in the following year's draft. But this regime also has to feel like they might not be around for the 2027 draft.
they might not be around if they are trading away talent, on an otherwise talentless offense, for a 5th round pick
RBs don't get much in return. Having said that, a deal with the devil is available. The Patsies desperately need a RB. They are the ones we could possibly leverage for a fourth or even a fourth and sixth, or maybe a third-for-fifth-and-Breece swap. Would you be willing?
They just drafted a back and gave Rhamondre an extension. I think the Texans, Vikings, or Steelers make the most sense of competing teams. The Chargers maybe but they have a high investment in Hampton. They just need to hold the fort til he gets back.
Hall/Hampton would be a hell of a duo for the Chargers. Assuming they can get him for rental price, that might not be a bad move for them at all. Allows you to ease Hampton back in while also setting him up to be the bell cow next year.
Rhamondre is not long for that team if he keeps fumbling. Vrabel will not tolerate it. Their main back Gibson is out with an ACL, who knows what will happen with him next year, and their running game is bad. Bad enough that at some point, it's going to get Maye killed as teams tee off on the pass. If I was them, I'd look to get a RB.
Gibson is/was #3 on the depth chart coming into and during the year dude. He only accounted for a 17% snap share in his 5 games before he got hurt and 25 carries. Rhamondre and Henderson are at 57%/38% respectively.
Chiefs offense is about to explode, with or without Hall, but if I were them and the Jets are stupid enough to send him for a 5th, jump at that one
Yeah, but Gibson was much more productive. Even in 2024, he had fewer yards (538 vs 801) but 4.5 ypa vs 3.9 for Stevenson, and a much better receiver (9 yards per reception as opposed to 5.1 for Stevenson). Patsies' running game is collapsing. Stevenson has 70 yards on 29 carries the last three games. They might need to upgrade guards or something but their pass pro seems good. Given that, they should upgrade RBs.
What’s that matter though? They weren’t giving him the ball whether he proved to be more productive. I just don’t see the Pats bringing a malcontent rental runningback in to a young locker room trying to build a culture. Regardless what you may think of Gibson, the Pats prioritized Stevenson/Henderson were RB1/2 and Gibson was 3. They have $36 million invested into Stevenson via an extension and a second round pick (38th overall) into Henderson.
