Gotta wonder how Sanchez would have done in this system. His one pre-season game looked solid and even though I want him gone, he was good. He was definitely going to start before he got injured.

His resume to be a Head Coach is not all that excellent. He became infamous for a call he made in an overtime game. He won the coin toss, and then elected to defer because he wanted the wind to be in his favor. The team that receives in OT has like a 75% chance of winning, so it's nutty to concede that advantage.

He also posted a very terrible record as a HC, and was quickly fired (he went 5-27 over two years.) He's a very good OC, but when you're hiring a new HC you don't want to pick someone who has a record of horrible failure as an NFL HC. Moderate failure is okay (Romeo Crennel got a second chance as a HC with his 25% win ratio, and then failed again) but the guys who lose 85% - 90% of their games, hiring them is hard to justify to your fan base, so I don't see it happening. Rob Ryan will get a HC job long before MM ever gets a second HC job.

I think Sanchez would have played better, but not as good as some might think.

Geno is able to make throws that Sanchez just can't.

Geno doesn't force bad throws like Sanchez does. He's actually willing to throw the ball away and live to see another down. The only thing I don't like about Geno is on those long passes, he just lobs the ball up praying Hill will outjump two or three receivers every time.

Marty's ok so far, but the play calling in OT against the Pats was shitty.

I don't see that....but that ain't Megatron out there. Even when Hill short armed that long pass, it wasn't int'd...and ask other players...nobody was scared of Sanchez's long ball.

    Sanchez kinda sucked at passing.

I think the real value of MM and the reason he may start getting looks at becoming a HC again is that he can develop a QB.

yep, same here...... attacking past the chains. haven't seen that in a LONG time

He's the OC version of Wade Phillips. We're safe unless the JETS make a deep postseason run, or him and Rex duke it out

Jets need to set the tone early and let Geno air it out... Leon Hall is out and Dre Fitzpatrick is their #2 corner.. Attack him early and often. I think Geno throws for 300+ in this game.

Exactly. He has a good career as an offensive coordinator but flopped as a head coach. We all know coaches will get second chances, so if he can prove he developed Geno for two solid seasons, and was able to tailor an offense to a young QB, he will absolutely get another shot. I just think one season isn't enough.
