So, LaFleur caused the team to turn on Wilson, Wilson to run backwards and the line to open the gates on White? Got it.

I agree regarding Hackett, but not about the rest. The OC has everything to do with how a QB plays and has an impact on how the OL plays with his play calling and play design. MLF never called plays in a way to help Zach and the offense to get into a rhythm, something that one can see other OCs doing with young QBs, especially when they're struggling. He called too many long developing plays. He never tailored his offense to what Zach's strengths are. He didn't understand the first thing about working with a young QB. IMO you couldn't be more wrong about MLF.

I'm sure running ten yards back immediately after receiving a shotgun snap was part of the playbook....

Only when that big nose tackle was healthy, which wasn't for many games. Forgot his name.

Kris Jenkins. I remember him shoving the center right over the QB on the snap...Insane. Sacked the QB with the Center's ass. I think that was against Penny and the Dolphins, but I'm not 100% on that.

The Rams were even better than that last two years, without MLF. Completely different environment. A top experienced QB and above all a savvy play caller at the helm as the HC, not to mention better receivers with Coop and the rook. With Zach and the Jets he was last offensively. So that comparison is meaningless to me. Two completely different scenarios. All I know is his game plan was way over Zach capabilities and he did zilch to adapt to the talent he had.

Yes, Zach had some fault in it, but imo it's silly to blame him for missed "layups." Zach never had a problem with accuracy or the yips at BYU. What you and others fail to realize is the importance of coaching/teaching, scheme fit/adapting the offense to what the QB can do well, and play calling that helps the QB rather than just throwing him to the wolves. Zach didn't miss those "layups" because he has always had accuracy issues or lack of arm talent. He developed a case of the yips because he was having to think too much, change his footwork, style of play to fit an offensive scheme that was totally foreign to him, had little talent around him, and a ton of pressure.

Coaching DEFINITELY matters in this league. You recognize to at least some extent, and that's better than a lot of posters, but not as much as you need to imo.

MLF had a much better scheme, was far more creative with concepts. Took far more criticism than he should have for the failures of this team on offense.

It's still early with Hackett but he has had some of the worst play calling games I've seen In awhile. The predictability alone has been mind blowing, the lack of adaptation as the game progresses, and the terrible RDZ offense. All Is a major concern. He has had a few good games though, so If he can find more consistent, my opinion could change.

Right now though. MLF. Still wish he was here.

When the scheme isn't designed to fit the QB, and instead trying to totally force the QB to change, it is NOT a good scheme, and certainly isn't better than Hackett's imo. MLF didn't take ENOUGH criticism.

If MLF was still here, Rodgers would never have accepted a trade to the Jets, the OL would still suck, and Zach would have been compete toast by now with no hope of resurrecting him, and the Jets would definitely be struggling to find a QB once Rodgers retires. They'd have had to either punt on the season or trade for another QB to start, and they'd be screwed next year with no cap space and no early draft picks. Now at least there's some hope that Zach can still become the Jets' FQB. GW may have even requested a traded by now.

    What?

The offense Is worse than It was last year, with upgraded skill position players.

Until this offense actually looks like a professional offense. It's a moot point.

At the end of the day. It's the same story with Zach Wilson at QB. The offense Is yet again, bottom of the league, shit..

It tends to be confusing when you have questions about what you are supposed to be looking for.

Some people will never understand football. It won't matter now many make-believe peewee football teams they coach, and it won't matter how many podcasts they misinterpret.

I get what you're saying, but the problem last year wasn't that guys weren't open, it was that Zach couldn't complete passes to them when they were. He even struggled completing very short passes which killed any chance at us gaining momentum.

Have you ever tried to do something that requires a lot of talent or skill and had little or no confidence that you could do it well? I have, and I know for a fact that if one doesn't have confidence, it doesn't matter how much talent or skill one possesses, that lack of confidence will short circuit that talent and skill, and make one look like one doesn't have much, if any talent. I know it based on my own life and experience, and in the countless number of people that I have taught and worked with as teacher and coach.

Zach's confidence was shot last year and he was still learning to read Ds, still learning how to play QB, and still learning the WCO. He wasn't coached on his footwork in practice every day, so it was still a mess. How was he supposed to play at a high level, when he was having to think, try to remember a gazillion different things, and his confidence was shot? We all know from watching the NFL that players struggle and don't play up to speed when they're having to think too much on the field. Instead of just reacting instinctively and letting their talent take over, and being relaxed, poised, and confident, Zach was having to try to learn and remember all those things will trying to play QB in a game and not screw up. And of course, in trying not to screw up, one only makes more mistakes. That's why he struggled and couldn't complete passes to them when they were there. He shouldn't have been playing at all. With all Zach had to learn, he should have sat for at least his first year, and maybe two years and watched a veteran QB play. JD admitted that at the end of last season. If the Jets had used an offense similar to what he played in at BYU, he probably wouldn't have had to sit, he wouldn't have struggled, lost confidence, and had his accuracy gone to crap on simple passes. He was overwhelmed, tense, and had way too much pressure on him. He had no chance to succeed.

I watched the game on my bunk in the morning after tiring night mission. I didn't even bother to take shower that day. Usually I would sleep till late in the afternoon (that was the arrangement with the night shift) but I couldn't sleep that day. One of the coolest games I have watched live.
