I'm not in favor of tanking anyway, but even if it were something I'd want to go through again, letting this regime have another crack at a high draft pick at QB is just not an option that should be on the table.

The Falcons will be quaking in their shoes seeing how Boyle has an extra 2 days to prepare.

You don’t beat intelligence into a person. You nurture it by working the fundamentals in training and developing a game plan that fits their strength and hide their weaknesses. Above all recognize when someone is not ready to start. They didn’t do either. They kept the same pathetic game plan they had since day one., which is completely moronic given the state of our OL and the propensity for offensive penalties due to motion by a bunch of newbies.

I'm from Atlanta and everyone I know that follows the team HATES Smith for what it's worth.

We agree, he should have been benched and had the intelligence of professional football implanted into his brain. He is missing concepts. He doesn’t read defenses, he doesn’t understand his hot reads, he doesn’t understand protection assignments. I personally think they should have beaten it into metaphorically of course. I think he should have been sat in front of film constantly learning and evaluating offense. I just don’t think he has the self motivation.

Have you looked at the coaching roster?

There's nobody on the staff that could impart any wisdom on Zach.
The Jets can't develop QB's... they can't even draft one worth developing.

This is a lazy take IMO. You don't know what he did and didn't do. Nor do I, but time spent as Reid's OC is worth its weight in gold. His players loved and respected him. He's gone to Washington and done well developing Howell and leading the offense into the top half of the NFL in yards and other metrics. The Washington defense sucks. The fans there love him and I wouldn't be surprised if he takes over as HC if/when Rivera is fired.

We'd be lucky to get him. Fuck all these former DCs who can't develop QBs and offenses.

Douglas didn't, hasn't and won't get a decent backup to QB to Aaron Rodgers this season. Only he knows why. This is totally a guess, but I wonder if the o-line has so many injuries b/c they were pushing too hard to give ZW more time to throw. Are there any football people out there that can comment on my thoughts?

I hope he does take over as HC there if that means we don’t hire him as HC here

I think they should fire everyone, bring Jimmy Harbaugh In. A guy who actually understands how to build an offense.

Fuck It, draft JJ McCarthy too. I'm ready to move the fuck on already.

Tired of the Insanity. Tired of the same fucking story.

Honestly, does anybody give a crap at this point who starts?
Harbaugh would go to the Chargers before he ever considered the Jets.

This. Is Howell just a stud? Let’s see what it looks like on Christmas Eve. The narrative of all Reid and Mahomes is why he left KC to make a name for himself.

At some point it is on Wilson. They gave him 3 years over 30 games and a new group of guys to work with. He was still making rookie mistakes. Undoubtedly many people told him not to run backwards, among other things

You gotta want to be great, all the wisdom in the world can't do it for you

I've been saying this for years. As long as the Jets keep hiring DCs as HCs, they're doomed.
