No he's not a HOFer YET, he still needs 2-3 more years like he has put up the last few. he's been great since '02 but the first 5 years of his career he was average. If his first half #s were close to the the 2nd half then he'd be a lock but he still has more work to do to get in.
I doubt it and if it does Tiki is wrong b/c coughlin was the one who helped him become a great player when he corrected Tiki's fumbling problem.
I think it has to do with TV. He probably got an offer and if he doesn't take it this year it'll go to someone else. Kind of like a Lou Piniella/Yankees scenario. That would be my guess.
The Giants roster may be the hardest to control in the NFL, this side of the Raiders. Not only do you have the obnoxious loudmouths always running their mouths but you've got undercover scumbags like Tiki and Strahan that are portrayed as "good guys" by the media yet are constantly undermining the CS. These guys are even more dangerous because the entire locker room probably doesn't despise them.
Neither do I. I love Tiki, and he has been one of the best ACTIVE backs, and certainly one of the best stories, but let's not go crazy.
Tiki Barber-RB- Giants Feb. 9 - 3:37 pm et The NFL Network has confirmed that Tiki Barber will make his official retirement announcement at some point next week. Barber is in Honolulu for the Pro Bowl and will play this weekend in what amounts to his last game in the NFL. He'll subsequently begin his broadcasting career, most likely for NBC's Today and Dateline programs.
Tiki Braber is retiring? Where has the press been about this? i haven't heard a thing:grin: good riddance tiki, we don't need an official announcement just leave already.
 No such thing as bad TV time for Tiki. Any excuse to get in front of a camera and act important.
NEW YORK -- Tiki Barber will work for NBC next year after spending most of the 2006 NFL season entertaining bids from various networks for jobs in both news and sports. Tiki Barber Barber The New York Giants' Pro Bowl running back will be introduced Tuesday at a network news conference, according to a person familiar with the deal who spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not directly involved in the contract. Barber will work both on the "Today" show and on the network's Sunday night football show. It is unlikely he would be in the broadcast booth with the longtime team of Al Michaels and John Madden. Barber, who had worked in the offseason at Fox, had considered offers from that network and ESPN/ABC for news-sports roles. The 31-year-old Barber announced in October that 2006 would be his final season after 10 years with the Giants. He finished fourth in the NFL with 1,662 yards rushing, including a career-high 234 in the season finale, a 34-28 win in Washington that got the Giants to the playoffs. For his career, he had 10,449 yards rushing and 5,182 yards receiving, joining Roger Craig and Marshall Faulk as only the third player in NFL history with 10,000 yards rushing and 5,000 receiving for their careers.
Now Tiki can spew General Electric's lies right in our face with impugnity, the money grubbing, self-important SOB!
Seeing as how we were 8-8 this season, I could go for that. And since the only real loss out of those 4 is Barber, it's a decent prediction.
Petitgout is a loss, I know he is hurt alot but he's good when healthy. The other guys won't affect you much and I think losing tiki is addition by subtraction.
