Howard's been in the league for 5 years, I think if there was a way to use him where he'd put up big numbers it would've been figured out by now. I certainly don't think the Jets of all teams would figure it out if it hasn't happened yet.
Hasn't he always been a double tag team at TE? I may be making that up tbh lol not that I'm bothered I'd prefer Njoku tbh. But your point on The Jets is accepted unconditionally lol
That’s fine with me he’s better than anyone else on the roster we have. I would cut them all and start fresh in that room all around, but I could see brining him back for a year nothing more
He is better than any other TE we have, but as you know, that's not saying much. I would truly love it if we cleaned house keeping only Yeboah and had 3 new TEs this season.
If the goal is to develop Zach Wilson into an professional NFL Quarterback, wouldn't playing a year with someone with Gronk's career experience help?
Its because Nook has 800 yards over the last 3 season while Schultz has 1400 over the last two and Schultz is the better blocker
There's Schultz and then there's a major drop off in talent. If Joe wants to fix TE, taking Schultz in FA is a no brainer.
There is a huge drop off after Schultz but unfortunately with the Cooper news, it looks like the Cowboys are gearing up to retain their own free agents. Huge bummer but if we could walk away with a C-tier free agent (that’s all that’s left after Schultz) and a guy like McBride in the second round that’s still pretty successful.
He would, but I'm not certain that he would sign here, plus there's his injury issues. There is tremendous disdain between the Jets and Patriots, and hatred by many Jets fans towards all things Patriots.
I'm no longer very high on McBride. He still looks slow to me. I don't think he'd ever be able to get down the seam. I'd rather have Ruckert. Sign me up for Njoku, Ruckert and either Otton, Ferguson or one of the other TEs
I feel like McBride separated himself even further from the pack yesterday. He had a great combine. I like Ruckert but if speed up the seam is what you want I don’t know how he’s better than McBride.
On that kind of premise you would be screaming for Brady to help our young WR corp's, no? It was a joke btw, a humourous quip.
The amount of money it would take to sign him coupled with the expected return on the money doesn't seem worthwhile. Let's stick with finding young talent that be with the team a few years.
In game tape Ruckert definitely looks faster and more agile. Ruckert didn't run yesterday. We'll see how he times at his Pro Day.
takes 3 years for a TE to develop. Douglas doesnt have 3 years to waste...anymore. I suspect if any TEs are picked up, it will be a veteran via FA or trade
