Putzier was just cut by the Broncos. He must be better than what we have backing up Keller.

To be honest, I'm not sure. I'll see if I can dig something up. But we have Keller, Simmons, and then who? I'll really be watching the TE cuts.

Ben Hartsock was just released from Atlanta. He is known for his blocking but I don't know much about his health.

no really - as far as being a TE goes - you can forget Dearth.

    Random bump?

Since when are we fine at tight end? Dustin Keller is the only tight end on this roster that belongs in the NFL and he's a marginal blocker. There's no depth.

If I was Rex Ryan, I wouldn't be very excited about Jack Simmons and Kevin Brock.

    HAHAHA

Well according to my favorite TGGer The GM, the Jets should have moved back 7 spots in the first round...picking up the Falcons 24th overall pick and Ben Hartsock in exchange for the 17th overall pick.

...soooo much value in that trade.

Wayne Hunter (OL) and Kareem Brown (DL) are both filling TE positions, so the blocking part is well taken care of.

Keller has the receiving thing down pat. So yes we are fine at TE.

Only negative is the TE in the game will give hints to the defense, but nothing more than any normal package change does.

Well, he's been cut. Is he any good? From what I read he's a nice blocker who's not going to catch many balls, but that's what we need.

No we have that in Brown and Hunter. Neither of them will can't many balls but find me a TE that will block better than Hunter.

The fact that you're okay with a converted defensive tackle and a scrub, backup offensive lineman as our only depth behind Dustin Keller just shows how little you know about this game.

Kareem Brown is in danger of being cut and Wayne Hunter is needed on the offensive line as a depth player.

UDFA Jack Simmons is second tight end on this team. The guy's got stone hands and he's a mediocre blocker. I'd love to see him succeed, but there's better options out there.

There's a difference between Hartsock and the two guys you've mentioned (Brown and Hunter) - Hartsock is actually a tight end, while the other two are used there because there's a lack of depth.

It wouldn't hurt to have another TE who could catch on the roster though. For example, on play-action plays at the goalline when we're using a 2-TE set, and if Keller is covered, I'm not sure I'd be confident in Hunter's or Brown's ability to get open and catch the ball. I think Putzier or Hartsock would be good additions.
