If Ortiz remains in the lineup when Youkilis comes back changes need to be made to team management. I love Francona and he's the best Sox manager I've seen, but at this point he has to realize that Ortiz in the lineup, especially over Lowell, is costing this team games.
i don't think lowell could DH everyday if he wanted to. Running is obviously the biggest burden on his hip, so I think that's what's holding him back.
It doesn't matter anyways because nobody else can player third for the weekend. I think he's smart enough to realize it needs to happen.
He says he's fine. He wants to play every day. DHing is FAR less of a burden than playing 3B. Mike Lowell needs to be the everyday DH when Youkilis comes back, end of story. If he can't handle hitting and running the bases once or twice he needs to be on the DL.
Ok , I didn't hear him say that but I'll take your word for it. That spot occupied by Ortiz/Varitek is just killing, both of them in the lineup does not need to happen.
He has been borderline complaining that he hasn't been used enough... http://www.weei.com/sports/boston/t...ow-why-you-wouldnt-want-good-bats-your-lineup
the rotation is going through a nice spell right now. if tazawa continues his ways , it'll be tough to let him go for wake.
Sox acquire Alex Gonzalez. Hardly the SS he was last time he was in town, and I'm a little surprised those Christian Guzman rumours didn't turn out to be true. hopefully he is serviceable.
