Didn't see this posted anywhere so figured I'd add to this thread. Below are full details on the draft. I plan on going, getting in line at 4 or 5am after a night of drinking in Manhattan and then get the wristband. Think that is early enough for decent seats?

The fan's guide to the 2008 NFL Draft
    National Football League

The NFL announced procedures for fans wishing to attend the 73rd NFL Draft on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27, at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. This year's draft will start at 3 p.m. on Saturday and will conclude with the final selection of Round 2. The third round will begin on Sunday at 10 a.m.

The NFL Draft is a free event; however seating is extremely limited.

The following procedure applies to Saturday only:

Wristbands to secure a ticket and entry into the Draft will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26 on the 50th Street side of Radio City Music Hall. All persons wishing to attend the Draft must be present in order to receive a wristband. No exceptions will be made. Please remember that fans arrive very early. Fans who receive wristbands will then be able to line up beginning at 1:00 p.m. with doors opening at 1:45 p.m.

Fan entry will take place at the "Carriage Door Entrance" located on 50th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues.

Fans who attend Day Two of the Draft (Sunday) in its entirety will be eligible to receive a ticket for the 2009 NFL Draft by filling out a form distributed only at Radio City prior to the first selection of the third round. These forms will only be accepted at the conclusion of Day Two, after the final selection has been made, to designated NFL staff members on-site. Only one form per person will be allowed. Doors will open to fans at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Other opportunities for fans to experience the excitement of the 2008 NFL Draft include the NFL Draft Preview on Friday and NFL Draft Fan Central on Saturday.

NFL Draft Preview will take place at the Winter Garden in the World Financial Center on Friday, April 25 at 12:00 p.m. NFL Draft Preview is a free event where fans can see the top college football prospects for the 2008 NFL Draft. Players from the New York Jets and the Super Bowl XLII Champion New York Giants also will appear and NFL Network's Jamie Dukes will host the event. The Winter Garden at the World Financial Center is located at 225 Vesey Street in lower Manhattan. For directions, click here.

NFL Draft Fan Central will be open to all fans on Saturday, April 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on 51st Street between 6th and 7th avenues. NFL Draft Fan Central is a free event and will feature interactive football activities, Giants and Jets player autograph sessions and live coverage of the 2008 NFL Draft on the NFL Network big screen.

Held in New York City since 1965, the NFL Draft will be televised nationally by NFL Network and ESPN. This is the third consecutive year that the Draft will be held at Radio City Music Hall.

Sunday is just show up and get in, no matter whether you went on Saturday or not. It starts at 10, so doors would open at 9 I suppose, I think it was 11/10 last year.

I got my tickets for being a day 2 diehard in the mail today, it sucks that they assign seats for the diehards, but guaranteed entry is pretty damn sweet.

I wonder what Braylon was doing at the draft. That's one player who's really come on. He went to Michigan right? Maybe he had some buddies in the draft.

I went to the draft last year and it was a blast. Unfortunately the wait to get in before the draft wasn't as fun and I just don't have it in me to wait this year. I'm thinking, however, of going day 2 which I understand is easy to do with no waiting.

Here are the NFL guidelines for the 2009 draft:
    Day 2 procedures (April 26)

For Day 2 of the draft (Sunday), tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, with doors opening at 9 a.m. Day 2 will feature player autograph signings, cheerleader appearances, giveaways of NFL collectibles and other prizes, trivia contests, EA Madden games and other interactive elements. The Lombardi Trophy and a collection of Super Bowl rings also will be on display.

My main motivation for going would be to get free day 1 draft tickets for next year. This has been the policy in past years. However, they don't mentioned this at all this in the guidelines, which they specifically mentioned in past years. I was wondering if anyone knows whether those staying for all of day 2 will get the free 2010 tickets or not.

I got my Day 2 diehard tickets in the mail yesterday, and it included this swipe card for day 2 this year. the mailing kind of implied they wouldnt be having the day 2 diehard any more but it was really vague.

That's too bad if they're discontinuing the program. I wonder why. Perhaps it won't be in New York? I'd think they'd want to encourage the diehards to stay till the end.

Heard last year the League was looking to take the Draft on the road because many teams shared their interest in playing host city, and wanted their own fans to get a chance to experience this event. The same idea goes for the Pro-Bowl (now that their contract with Hawaii is up) but not on a year-by-year basis. I think the only one not effected by any of this is the combine tho.
