dude this game is of monumental proportions for more than this year....i have been a big proponent from the raider game until now that if we lose don't lose hope...and i still feel that but a loss here would seriously sting in the most major of ways...

THIS IS A MUST WIN GAME....and definitly the biggest Jets game in 10 years...We need to turn the tables this year and show we are not Bellicheck's bitches anymore...we need to hit em in the chin and make it look good....this game is fucking huge and i've been antsy since sunday...I CANNOT WAIT.

not only is the game huge in the standings...but theres a saga which is about to be decided...an ex pat coming back to play against them in their own house...brett favre at 39 years old about to get the verdict....the reputation of the Jets on the line...and all of this with tom brady making his first appearance from the sidelines to watch it all...DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS?!?!?!

This game is on live TV here at Midday Friday.

I'm already spinning it for a sick day tomorrow by hinting that my guts are feeling a bit crook, must have had a dodgy prawn for lunch.

    Rant long and loud
Repeat 'til you're blue in the face
Ever get the feeling you're always on a losing streak?

    Their silence is deafening
From the havens of thieves and kings

Empower those who serve to deflect suspicious minds
Action and answers as likely as a reversal of time

    Their silence is deafening.
From the retreats of tamed apologists
    Their disdain is crippling
For those whose crises they have fixed

I am your 'untermensch' - a trace of filth to be scraped off
A trace of filth to be scraped off

Yet when it's you who's in their debt
the strong-arm brings you to your knees
    So much for 'progressive authority'
A trace of filth to be scraped off

Power to the powerless - well, where?
Screaming at the wall to make more sense...

    ...I melt back into indifference

    The silence is deafening
    The silence is deafening
    The silence is deafening

I love this thread. I totally feel this way about tonight's game. I feel like this game is a crucial turning point for this team and has implications beyond this season. If the Jets can't find a way to beat the Patriots then Mangini probably is just not the guy. The talent disparity is not so great that we should be getting swept every season by these guys. It's beyond humiliating. We'll find out tonight whether the Jets are contenders or also-rans. No excuses.

I plan on ditching my last exam for the year early so I can catch the whole game tomorrow, so if we don't win and I fail, the bill will probably kill me anyway.

I live with two Pats fans. A bunch of my best friends are Pats fans. I have been the butt end of endless jokes at school for wearing my Jets jersey. This is when I get my redemption. I'll be at a bar with all of them and just once, just once I want to come away being the one on top. I will get arrested tomorrow night for changing J-E-T-S down the Main Line if we win until 5am. This is it. 'Nova's first bball game is Friday night. We lost tonight, and it's college basketball season and I start looking at mock drafts. Time to put it all on the line.

Fuck it. After sitting here and thinking for a bit, this game will set the tone for the home stretch of the season. Losing this game may not eliminate us stat-wise but it will mentally. The pats will again have control of the division crown and we have to hope we slide in as a wild card? How many times have we tried that scenario? How 'bout we control our destiny, for once. The division is up for grabs. And as far as im concerned, the AFC is still up for grabs. Winning this game will give us all the confidence we need to face TEN after a 10 day rest.

Reading winston's post put everthing in perspective for me. I like to consider myself a die-hard fan. But i've been a fan for only 10 yrs. Then I look at winston and champ who's been there through it all. The torment, the disappointment, year after year. So to you naysayers, THIS is the game our culture must change. And yes, Winston i got the shotgun loaded. Let's kick some ass!

This game is going to test all of our resolve until the gun goes off and hopefully it won't be the gun in your TV room.
