Sauce dropping that easy pick 6 turned the tide. I don't think the Jets were going to win either way, but maybe if he takes that in the Jets don't have to abandon the run so early. A medium range completion here and there and keeps someone out of the box and we can pickup yards on the ground. The OL and QB eat shit. We knew that coming into this game. We also knew that Jax kind of exposed the defense last season. The gameplan to beat the Jets is as obvious as the the way to fix the Jets. Force Wilson to throw and cause 3 and outs/short drives while sustaining long drives with short/medium range passes to gas the Jets D. Exactly the same as last season.
I totally disagree, they should be made to watch every fking snap three times... so maybe, just maybe, the CS and players will be 1) embarrassed and 2) man-up and play like a professional FB player and Coach.
Sometimes we come out flat on the road, especially the further west we travel. We might be able to chalk this game up to that?
Yeah we are pretty susceptible in those hook/curl zones where linebackers would sit. The Cowboys stayed away from outside the numbers and deep down the middle. It’s pretty crazy that the Jets staff didn’t really adjust the defense to it. I also didn’t understand trying to blitz Dak in the first half. He threw hot every time we sent an extra rusher. There were a couple drives we did it multiple plays in a row too.
It is true, but it’s also unacceptable. Don’t quote me on this but I believe the statistic was that home teams win something like 52-54% of their games. That’s not much of an advantage anymore. We have to win road games.
I'm at work - so this will be short I'm so tired of reading "Wilson blah blah blah" after this game. He's FAR from the most alarming problem that was on full display yesterday. If that's what you took from that loss yesterday, you clearly weren't really watching the game. They were POORLY Prepared on both sides of the ball on top of believing their own hype. They don't make adjustments STILL on either side of the ball! Hackett's game plan was horrendous! Blaming ZW and the OL solely for the results yesterday is short sighted. Its painfully obvious right now he has NO PLAN without Aaron Rodgers. If he doesn't figure it out for the Patriots this week, it will be another L coming at the hands of the Pats this Sunday. It's nauseating. The O-Line needs to be shuffled. Start with something like Becton back at LT, AVT at RT and figure out the Guard spot next to AVT, even if it's Tippman. Brown is done. And not for nothing Uzomah needs to be the 3rd TE and not on the field unless someone dies. He is horrendous. For the blocking TE he cant block a stiff breeze.
They're better than the Jets on offense. Better than Hackett on the sidelines too. I think they go after Sauce and Reed directly as the league knows Sauce doesn't tackle and Reed has a very big opinion of himself and the D.
I agree, I don't think this game defines our season. Dallas is just very good. Let's go beat New England.
I haven’t seen anyone say the game planning was good in any respect. That doesn’t suddenly mean Wilson isn’t a major problem. People complain about him because he sucks. He’s better than we was last season - I’ll go as far as to say that he made good progress this offseason - but the bar was almost as low as it could be to start with. He’s feeling the pressure and moving in the pocket better. I’ve only seen him run 30 yards in the wrong direction 1 time this season. He’s also running more - good than he recognizes that running forward is better. Also good that some of the times he’s running it’s legitimately because nobody is open or there’s plenty of room to do so. He throws the ball away when nothing is there sometimes. Still has the arm strength to make every throw. Bad that he’s still missing open receivers. He’s still staring receivers down. He’s still throwing without planting his feet. Still confuses the color of each teams uniform at least once a game. Still pissing Garret Wilson off. Still has some kind of mind control over the CS that makes them do stupid things like believe he can lead a comeback through the air. I don’t believe Rodger’s would have lasted the season with the OL in its current state. He can’t move like Wilson or, I’d imagine, take the beating he can either, but Rodger’s was both QB and OC. Now, in certain respects, we have neither of those things. I watched Wilson audible himself into a sack - forget which RB was in but you could tell they didn’t agree with the call as he was making it. They really went all or nothing with Rodger’s by bending to his every whim, and now that they don’t have him they don’t know wtf to do. They have some new WR’s, a Hacket calling plays, and a tougher schedule. If the defense doesn’t figure out how to cover up its glaring weakness a 4 or 5 win season isn’t out of the question.
I hope they can find a way to upgrade the QB situation. Wilson isn't the answer. With the defense and Hall and G. Wilson they should still compete for a playoff spot if they can find an effective game manager at QB.
Orrrrrr they can follow the gameplan that both BUF and DAL did by playing their best receiver in the slot and let him feast all day. Can you imagine Tyreek Hill on Echols? Sauce has not played well this year, certainly not to his standard. But we’re getting beat because teams are moving their O around to create mismatches knowing that our D is so simple that a monkey could call the plays, as Saleh has proudly stated multiple times. We just don’t bother to adjust.
