Say what you want about the Pats but I heard that Mario Williams is pretty good.

even if Massie is only 1/2 or the tackle he was in college, he would still be better then the two on our roster.

Vlad was a bust and Hunter is over his head.

Hunter competing for a spot according to Tanny:

The New York Jets went defensive end, wideout and outside linebacker with their first three picks of the 2012 NFL Draft, but right tackle Wayne Hunter is in danger of losing his starting spot despite no rookie competition.

Jets general manager Mike Tannenabaum said Friday night, via the New York Daily News, that Hunter "is competing for a position."

"There are a number of young players on our offensive line that we’re excited to see," Tannenbaum added. "Having Wayne Hunter back for another year ... he’ll still be competing for a position here. We have three young guys we like in Caleb (Schlauderaff), Austin (Howard) and Vlad (Ducasse), so we’ll see how that goes."

Hunter reportedly has been on thin ice throughout the offseason. The Daily News reported in March that the Jets had floated Hunter on the trade market and actually was in trade discussions with at least one NFC team.

Hunter remains with the Jets but it remains to been seen what role he'll play.

"Wayne's our right tackle now and that’s going to be something we continue to look at," Tannenbaum said. "The offensive line is something we’ll continue to monitor over here over the next few weeks. As we will at all positions, when we get through the draft, we’ll evaluate the depth chart."

The Jets currently hold three picks in the sixth round and two in the seventh. The fourth round of the NFL Draft will begin Saturday at noon ET.

Two good late RT picks that could surprise everyone. Both have injury concerns, but what do you expect in the 6th round. If it wasn't for injuries they would already be long gone.

The lockout didn't seem to hurt Cam Newton very much, and he was a rookie QB with all eyes on him.

At what point do you admit a guy just can't play.

Yes, comparing the #1 overall pick in the draft who was the quarterback of an undefeated national champion, to a raw offensive guard from a small FCS school whose primary issues clearly involve awareness and knowing his assignments is a legitimate comparison.

Is Vernon Carey an FA or likely a summer cut? What's the scouting report on him?

This has been said at least 1000 times but here goes again: Vernon Carey played guard last year

Given the choice of Vernon Carey or Marc Colombo at RT, Tony Sparano went with Marc Colombo

Do what you will with that information

Not comparing the 2. There is no comparison. Our GM selected a bust. Accept it.

But the lockout / "no offseason program" excuse is lame BS.

Rex says they were "a little shocked" than S Allen lasted until 7th round. Also says Wayne Hunter "will have a big year for us." #Jets Rich cimini

Does that mean we traded him to the Pats?

Between Ducasse and Hunter, I think one of them will succeed in the man on man blocking scheme. I remember hearing that Vlad was as dumb as a wall and we all know that he is a monster. Man on man can help for sure opposed to the complex scheme he previously had.
