As I said that is ESPN experts HO & I they showed film as to why he did not have good hands or could not stop speed rushers. you are certainly though as another "expert" entitled to your HO. I hope that finally we got some smarts in the FO & they will do what they feel is best for the team.

If we must draft an offensive lineman at #4 i would want them to be a superior pass protector and a superior run blocker. D'brick isnt both of those. That is why i think we take mario or we trade down, because i would want a complete offensive lineman for the #4 overall pick in the draft, not someone who is good in one part of their job and mediocre in the other.

NO DRAFT PICK IS GOOD AT EVERYTHING!!! Not Leinart, not Williams, not Davis, not Bush, NONE!! This is a rather absurd argument. If you only draft a pick that is good at everything, and have no negatives, no player would ever be drafted. They all have negatives, none have played a single down in the NFL, nor have they been coached on an NFL level. People had similar reservations about Pace and Ogden's run blocking, how did they work out?

Most scouts attribute Brick's lack of production on run blocking to his size. However, the same scouts say his frame can support another 15-20lbs. Add to that being taught better run-blocking techniques in the NFL, and there is ALOT of room for improvement. Will he pan out? Who knows, there are no sure things in the draft. But if you are looking for perfection, the draft is not the place.

I absolutely agree. That can be said about every draft pick. It is the same argument I make when people already have Mario in the HOF.

Before you say he played against lesser talent please take a look at some of the edge rushers in the ACC.

    Mario Williams
    Manny Lawson
    Wimbley from FSU
    Shawne Merriman
    Darryl Tapp
    Mathias Kiawnuka

Now please tell me that he played against lesser competition.

Couldn't read your post after that joke of a statement. ACC plays some goddamn good football.

I have to be honest...I would be disappointed with D'Brick. We haven't drafted an offensive player in round 1 in the past 4 drafts (longest streak so far..) And while that would address the offense I just don't think he's going to make the impact we need.

If we take him, I would hope we address the RB position with Willaims, Maroney, or at least Norwood.

At the Number 4 pick how much are the Jets gonna have to spend for his contract?
I want a answer on this one, not meant to be rhetorical, but curious to know how much a 4th draft pick will cost in salary?

I'm not saying that players be good at everything that they do, all I'm saying is that if we take an OT at #4 he had better be good at run blocking and pass protection, not to mention making reads on the line and all that other garbage. If a #4 over OT isnt a good run blocker to me, which is a very important part of being an o-lineman, then he's not worth #4. Otherwise i will take Mario Williams who can do everything and is a much more complete player than Ferguson. Plus he would probably make a much bigger impact.

    1) BS, the ACC has had great talent over the past several years at the DE spot and at defense as a whole.

    2) True, and that's my only real problem with him (and it's a big one for a top 5 pick)

    3) Can't say it's a problem he has great technique...

    4) Long arms is GREAT for a tackle. How is that a problem?

He is the only player (except for vince young) that I would be extremely pissed off by drafting. You don't replace a position that doesn't need replacing.

You may be right. But you should not mention Pace in the same sentence as those other two.

I think if Mario is gone we should trade down as well. The more I look at this draft, the more I think we can get a real good OT at 29 or 35. I would trade down as low as 10 or 11 and consider taking Lawson there. We would then have Lawson and #29.Then we would have 2 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounders. We could rebuild real quick with a good draft.

that can be said for every prospect in the draft.

Mario Williams didnt rush against NFL caliber Tackles
Matt Leinart didnt throw against NFL secondarys
Reggie Bush didnt run through NFL defenses.

    So whats your point?

List of notable players he faced against(espn's rankings of DE)
Mathias Kiwanaku(4) (both in game and at senior bowl)
    Kamerion Wimbley(2)
    Mario Williams/Manny Lawson(1/3)
    Darryl Tapp(5)

Didn't face up against quality DE's huh?
