What makes you think you can tease either of those out options out of the curriculum just by the course name? They're important subjects for study, period. How long ago did you go to college?
It was three, STEM really IS poor these days. And I didn't put the list together. I'm not defending anything, I just want to know whats wrong with having classes about socialism and marxism in the curriculum? They were there forty years ago, why get all triggered about them now?
Obviously those weren’t the intention of what I was pointing out. But further to you bringing it up, there are active socialist movements in this country that have gained a lot of steam. Hence why one might be a little wary of the context in which they’re being taught, especially with a growing distrust in higher education. Crippling student loan debt is certainly an issue in this country. It sets folks back a decade before they can become property owners, start a family, be comfortable financially, etc. Maybe if education focused more on tangible workplace skills rather than white rage, the debt wouldn’t be so crippling because kids would get better jobs with their out of college skills. Agree or disagree?
Agree. Socialist campus movements have been around forever. They don't tend to survive graduation for very long. There are a lot of active movements in this country today that I'd be a lot more concerned with. Funny story, good friend of mine sent his youngest daughter to some all women's college in Mass which is basically a raging cesspool of ballcrushing lesbian feminism. They're tying themselves into pretzels trying to figure out what to do about trans peeps. Thats got to be a great ROI for his sixty grand per.
there isn’t. There’s just difference between teaching, and infusing massive amounts of personal belief , just like network news does these days
I’m not outraged geddy, I’m fine. Just a conversation. I’ll wait until some of these kids grow up and get the opportunity to use it to make policy.
Those topics are important to learn about so you don't repeat the mistakes of the past. You read about Hitler in school, it doesn't make you a future Nazi
Teaching people about how wronged they were by past doings is literally how Hitler and the Nazis came to power lol.
Wow dude. Talk about ignorant. Read up a little bit about how the Nazis moved to controlling their nation through education. Here’s the cliff notes. https://www.britannica.com/topic/education/Nazi-Germany The way Hitler and the party came to power was by blaming everyone else and specifically the Jews obviously for wrongdoing. Read up a little bit.
He was a politician that banned books and shit when he murdered everyone and took over. But he wasn't teaching history or historical theories in schools. We should avoid politicians that want to ban books and shit
You want middle school students reading passages like the below? Pretty gross if you have a problem with that book being taken out of middle school libraries.
Here’s another one for you RePuBlIcAnS wAnT tO bAn BoOkS. As if they’re trying to ban books about World War II or Vietnam. https://www.foxnews.com/media/virgi...viant-sex-acts-school-library-demands-answers I guess those who don’t think K-12 kids should be reading about pegging in school libraries are similar to Nazis.
