How did he sound like a millionaire? We have most fans on this board saying essentially the same things as he said about Farve. Sounds like the guy was just honest and said what regular folks everywhere was thinking. But, you are right, it was not the standard meaningless BS we hear all the time, but his real opinion, shared by numerous fans on this very board. He must be a pampered millionaire jackass then, right...
TJ lived through the QB debacle in Chicago. I don't blame him for getting uptight when QB becomes a central problem on the Jets.
TJ has nothing to be ashamed of based on what he said. If the JETS put the ball in his hands more often we would be discussing the upcoming playoff game this weekend. Instead we sit here and complain about whats right or wrong with a players interview. TJ said what many others wouldnt.
If he got more yards when they did put the ball in his hands the last four games of the season then maybe we wouldn't be having this discussion now. He averaged 56 a game and had 23 in week 17. He sucked and is now trying to hide it by calling out Favre.
this is so overblown, I don't care anymore, the only reason it is big is because Favre is untouchable to negative comments. Hey maybe just like laverneus, Jones has been told to make comments up haha
Why is it on them? It's the same line that blocked for him all year. It's that kind of ridiculous comment that makes talking about any of this worthless. The bottom line is he should have kept his fucking mouth shut and kept his opinion in house.
The truth is that the entire team fell apart the last five weeks. Favre's throws were off, TJ & running game production dropped like a rock, defense was giving backup QBs all day to pass, lots of stupid, annoying penalties, coaches making bizarre play calls (shotguns on 3rd and a yard, not rekicking a FG after a 5yd penalty after your kicker just made the kick handily, not going for it on 4th and a foot when 3rd yards outside the end zone, but then going for it on 4th and 12 on your own 10 when you had enough timeouts to get the ball back on downs if you punted). And so on. There may have been one thing that started it all, the first domino to fall, everyone quit trying after it happened, but ... the entire team looked awful. Every one of the "stars" except Washington and Revis. Even Jenkins really disappeared the last month (something I'm not sure has been talked about much here). The team was bad, not just one or two players.
What he should have said was that "I only ran 10 f-in times for 23 yards in the last game of the season"
And the truth of the matter is that it wasn't just Farvre or TJ that sucked. The Defensive line sucked, the linebackers sucked, the Special teams sucked, the coaches sucked. That is part of the problem with TJ going on a radio station and singling out one teammate for ridicule and blame, especially when that teammate was instrumental in TJ having such a good year as a running back and especially when that teammate is an all time great, 1st ballot HOFer who is one of the best players of all time. TJ should show some respect for his teammates and for his team. If he tries to blame his crappy performances against Seattle and Miami on his Offensive Line - that would be taking this to a whole new level of TJ refusing to take any personal accountability for his words and actions.
What do you expect when opposing teams put 8 in the box to pressure Favre. Come on man the play calling and the game plans were horrendous. Thomas Jones gave us a fantastic year. Something the JETS havent gotten out of a RB since Curtis Martin.
TJ bitched that Brett turned ball over and said anyone that turns the ball over to many times should be benched. TJ had one all year.
And what does that have to do with his inept play over the last 4 games? The point is he was in no position to talk about anything. As was pointed out above the whole team fell apart and he was a big part of that too.
TJ did nothing against Seattle or Miami. He is no position to run off to the media and bitch and whine like a little girl. If he has a problem with Brett he should be man enough to take that up with Brett. If he has a problem with his offensive line he should be man enough to take that up with Mangold & Company. Instead he runs out to Hot97 and starts whining about his teammates and who should be benched etc. Sounds like a jerk. sounds like T.O. and now he is being called out on it and he sounds even dumber. He has his own self to blame because he needs to learn to STFU.
Mangini ran around saying he only brings in "character guys". TJ and the anonymous player don't sound like character guys.
Would the interview had been any different if it was a country station or a sports station. Come on whats said is said. TJ is team player and has put up legitimate numbers allowing him to speak his mind. More players should play the game the way TJ does.
They stopped running the friggin ball. He hardly had any carriers towards the end of the season. What does it matter what station it was. Hes in rap videos anyhow and its a popular NY station. Im done with this whole thing. Some people got work to do.
