It was different back then because of free agency rules. You knew a team could not turn itself around in one season because you couldn't sign players from other teams. You could only build through the draft.
I agree with some of this but 3 games into the season we have to let this year play itself out...then if we STILL have these issues, we're in deep shit. If JD is just gonna stand around and hold his coffee because daddy won't let him get help then guess what's gonna happen in 2 more years?
Is it possible they are just more poorly coached than last year? the early struggles show they aren’t prepared for the game. That’s on the coaches
It's hard to compare to Gase but yeah, our team has been really poorly coached so far. Specifically Saleh and LaFleur.
We look like the same team as last yr, common link JD. We were at least avg before him, we are now Detroit Lions bad. With no real vision to change going into one of the most important off seasons in our history This off season we need to change our team and we have the draft picks and cap space to do it, however do you trust JD to do it? I think he wastes the picks on trying to make Saleh happy as he is a yes man .
As bad as Dallas was that year, watching Aikman you could see he was going to do something in this league. He had the poise and professionalism, despite the dumpster fire going on around him. You knew as soon as Dallas put players around him he was going to be successful (the same was true of Peyton Manning in his rookie year) Right now I can’t say the same for our rookie QB
rooting for the Jets often leads to a disconnect from reality for me... man... i may give up and actaully root for this teams eternal failure.... we have nosedived disgustingly.... these last years... brutal....
apparently the niners have had so many injuries to their RB corps that they did contact Gore this week to see if he was interested in playing this season
