I have said this two weeks ago: DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP TOO HIGH UNTIL AFTER THIS GAME. And the offense (and to some degree, defense too during last week) failed miserably in each of the two games. Sure, Holmes did fuck up to put the Jets in 14 pts hole last week. Let me ask you though - is 2 possession lead that much of a death knell for a team, where catching up is nearly impossible? You guys have to ask the question: Just why does this offense keep faltering against even [remotely adequate] defense, let alone good ones?
I don't know what's funnier. Sanchez's play today or people blaming the Jets fuckups on lack of training camp...in week 16. Fuck these players.
Wow Don, Tell us how you really feel................ I have been a fan of this team since the 60's I knew going into this game we were not the team even Rex hope they would be. There were some very poor decisions made this past offseason and some good ones as well. All you people who want to jump, go ahead, but this team is a year or two away from being very damn good. Yes, some very diffucult decision will have to be made between this offseason and next but I have no doubt they will be made. This club has some very talented young players who have not yet even begun to contribute. When other holes are filled, you will see the Jets that Rex Ryan envisions this club to be... When that happens I will be more then willing to serve the crow piping hot to you all. !@!!!!!!
Ive only been a Jets fan since I was 12. Im 19 now. I havent endured as much as you have. Hell I havent had it to bad to be honest. The worst year for me was the Favre year, the way it ended was hell
Not unless you get a lot more talent in there. This team just isn't that good. Hopefully they take a long hard look at this team and stop fooling themselves to believe guys like Eric Smith are good players.
NOW do you see why I wasn't optimistic after beating the lowly Bills, Redskins, and Chiefs? Maybe I'll be taken more seriously around here, or more likely, you sun shiners will get your head on straight.
You should change your user name to "I Told You So".... or maybe "NeenerNeener". Then I'll take you more seriously.
I guess we really shouldn't be shocked. Every move we made in the off season made us a weaker team. EVERY one. I knew this deep down, but I wanted to believe all the people on here who said ... Losing Brad Smith was no big deal. Signing Holmes over Braylon was the right decision. Plax was going give us the same production as Braylon did. Woody was washed up and We wouldn't miss him on the OL. Mason was an upgrade over Cotchery. Sean Ellis was over the Hill. We didn't need Ihedigbo on the roster. Conner was ready to step in and replace T-Rich. Weatherford could be replaced by Connelly. individually, each move may not have been crippling, but they all add up. Every one of those guys made plays for us last year, and helped to get us to the AFCCG. I understand a lot of those moves were unavoidable, but thinking that this roster was as good as what we had last season was delusional. For Christ's sake ... we were 9-2 at one point last season. We had better players last year ... that's the bottom line.
Thank you! That's what I've said all season. On this Christmas, let's not forget to thank Scrooge Johnson and The Ghost of Tannenbaum past for all they have done to F-up the roster.
Fart. The personnel decision makers (Ryan included) wrecked this team in the offseason. They have a full offseason to fix it.
How many times have the Jets played a solid half and then one huge play by their opponent causes them to unravel. It happened again yesterday on Cruz's 99 yard run. The Jets held the Giants to four first downs and then that play happens and they simply disintegrated in a sea of moron penalties and missed opportunities.
