Every team has players like Leon. Overachievers, great late round finds. Not many turn out to be like Tom Brady though, and Leon certainly won't.

It is sort of weird for sure.
I believe it was put in the books because the league wants to see kickoffs get returned. Kickoff returns are one of the most exciting types of plays in the league. The league would like all kickers to keep the ball in bounds. The rule that Washington took advantage of yesterday is a deterrent to kicking the ball near the sidelines.

I have seen quite a few people say it was a brilliant move by Washington and it was. However, most, if not all, kick returners are aware of the rule or at least should be. You will see kickoff returners take advantage of the rule from time to time. The thing is you don't see it too often because quite a few things have to happen.

That makes a lot of sense, the league has tweaked the rules to make it's product flashier for the fans in recent years, with the Ty Law rule and the strict protection of the passers.

He may not be an every down back but there's no reason why he shouldn't be on the field for most of the downs.

Couldn't be more wrong. Especially in a SALARY CAP league.

100% in agreement. Bush hasn't shown anything to date.

He has scored 8 touchdowns this year and they have not been of the cheap Mike Vrabel/late career Jerome Bettis/Butch Rolle variety.
Bush has played well this year despite the fact he does not have good rushing statistics.

Its amazing how the NFL consensus is that Bush is a dynamic playmaker, and yet on here he is an overrated piece of garbage.

    See past the Jerseys.

NFL consensus also seemed to be that John Lynch was a Pro Bowl caliber safety in the last few years. Both POVs have their errors.

Leon kicks ass! So he may not be big and strong but he is a fast and elusive mofo. He has given the Jets excellent field position many of times this season and will continue to do so on punt and kick returns. On that alone he is ok in my book.

Leon also has less carries and he has less receptions.

didn't we all agree that LW was a poor man's reggie bush.... now he's better? When did the overtake occur?

I love LW, he is a game changer, but Bush has been more dynamic.

Man can't Jet fans just enjoy watching the dude and like the fact he plays on this team?

Yes he came from a different sperm and egg than R. Bush came from.............. so the fuck what.

He has been great for this team. I mean should we knock him for the fact he is not Gale Sayers or Barry Sanders either?

Its in our nature to argue and question - why be happy with the great player we have?

Leon is a play maker and so is Bush
Teams key on Reggie Bush more so than Washington at this point.
Reggie Bush gets more carries/receptions than Washington
Both players are great and add a lot to their respective offenses

Who cares who is better or whatever? Just be happy we have Leon and appreciate what he does for our team
