He already did that in 08, but im not sold he can have longterm success with Brady. The 08 team was the aftermath of an 18-1 team, so even though they went 11-5 with Cassel, that team was still loaded tbh. As it turns out, Cassel is a serviceable QB and isnt your average backup. Perhaps Bill leaves New England? that would be interesting, becaue I dont think any coach has won on multiple teams.
I think deep down Belichick has always wanted the Giants HC job above all else. If Coughlin were to leave at around the same time as Belichick, and the Giants weren't able to find a long-term solution, you can bet Bill would be first in line for an interview.
When they did the special on NFL Network about Belichick, he almost came to tears reminiscing about his time with the Giants while standing in the old Giants stadium for the last time. In his bio, he goes on about loving the Giants and his time there.
Not sure about that but I think it's great how after he sticks it to Parcells and wins 3 titles, he loses twice on the big stage to a team coached by his old coworker. You know that shit drives him fuckin insane. Jets/Pats beef needs a DVD documentary when all is said and done.
This is part of the reason why, thought I'm not a Jets fan, I like Rex Ryan and think he's good for the NFL. It's good entertainment and nice to see a little spontaneity at press conferences. I'm just glad Belichick doesn't do things that way though, and I don't mean that in a condescending way... just look at the camp fights situation. The Patriots have brawls and it's spun as a positive. The Jets have brawls and it's Armageddon. A lot of that happens because of how Rex handles the media. On a side note, my money is on Brady playing for six seasons (including 2012) and Belichick staying for around 10 more. Speculation that he'll retire with Brady never comes from reputable sources, and is just that -- pure speculation. He's not an old man yet and is not cut out to do anything else. Maybe a little TV work, but only in an analyst role. TV needs colorful personalities, and his is as gray as his hoodie.
That would be an awesome project. Or a book... written in cooperation between one Jets fan and one Pats fan, lol. You could alternate chapters.
I like him....his priority is to coach a football team, not to talk to a bunch of guys who didnt make it.
on a related note, did anyone see Bob Kraft's latest girfriend? here they are at pats practice the other day
I think BB is a scumbag as documented with his off the field escapades. his general demeanor, and robotic interaction with people. that being said hes a hell of a football coach. Having Brady definitely helps but hes made chicken salad out of chicken shit with most of his defenses. a couple years though those defenses were underrated talent wise and he got a little too much credit. but either way denying his ability as a coach is kind of out there IMO.
