In my opinion, Decker is not all that much better than Kerley; neither stretches the field. And, yes, NOW the Jets have Harvin. But they didn't for the majority of the season and not at all in the offseason. And then there's the OL. It's not ANY better and may be worse than it was last year. So, all told, the Jets didn't improve the offense significantly in the offseason. Every move was either a lateral or busted, with the notable exception of Decker, who hasn't really torn it up by any stretch of the imagination. IMO the Jets have virtually the same needs on offense as they had last year: a vertical speedster at WR and significant interior line upgrade. I forgot to mention Amaro, but, again, since none of the Jets stretch the field much--and they don't throw long passes, his impact hasn't been all that significant.

I won't argue that there is more talent but it is possible to improve the talent and be in a worse situation.
QB: same except people thought Geno "might" be the answer last year… This year, there is no hope
Running back: slightly better on paper but CJ is probably going to get cut in the offseason.
Wide Receiver: Harvin most likely not back (not at that salary at least), Decker is overpaid & Kerley has been MIA… We resigned him for 4 years/16 million meaning that if we bring him & Harvin back with Decker - we are spending almost 20 million next year for a very average WR corps.
Tight End: Improved - Jace Amaro has shown some flashes of being a good player. Drops passes and doesn't block very well though.
Offensive Line: Huge downgrade. Our line is comprised of 1 player who won't be here next year (Colon), 2 solid but aging players (Mangold/Brick), a 29 year old tackle who is serviceable (Giacomini) and a young barely serviceable player (Aboushi)… There is no hope for the future of this line… we need to start addressing it IMMEDIATELY.

So while I agree that there is more talent on this team than last year, the future of this offense looks bleak.

but you start off the yr running nelson and salas as starters yeah thats an upgrade..... harvin is a late season add on but when you go into the yr depending on one player as a upgrade to the position IE decker you are setting yourself up for failure and fail we did. Now an upgrade beginning of the yr even at best

And why lock up Kerley of all people??? He's the one guy who can most easily be replaced: small AND slow. If he had Santana Moss speed and elusiveness, sure. But he's basically a smaller Cotchery...

That's a lousy opinion then. Decker is far better then Kerley, whose done nothing this season.

Jets fans, go find another team to back. Your owner, GM. HC, Vick, Smith all stink. This team is going nowhere with any of these people part of the team.
    Period, end of discussion!

What the fuck has Decker done? Next to nothing at a King's ransom. and my opinion is as lousy as yours, only more reasonable.

He lost it in the lights...AND he stepped out of bounds for no particular reason on what should have been an EASY TD grab. He's not garbage, but he's definitely not a savior.

Should rename this thread "this Fire Idzik stuff might help save the Jets" because although there are some here who want to downplay what we have done & continue to do, they will be the same people shaking our hands and thanking us in a few years. We will have a t-shirt waiting for you.

    Better late than never.

Should rename this thread "don't question my actions because MY thousands of supporters will disagree with you."

    Sure you do.

I guess that was a typo. I'm not surprised by the slip. It's probably hard to type "our our our" when you're really thinking "my my my" all day long.

While I would love to see them all fired...EVEN THE OWNER...you know, Idzik really can go F himself. I could care less about his poor family seeing a billboard.

You take a job like he did...you leave your HC out to dry all year because of the brilliant scheme to pocket 22 million dollars so we can pay our future busload of stars. The stars right? All the 3-11 stars..that's why we held all of that money.

Go back and look at many posters like myself who knew that this guy was playing with fire not getting any DB's back in July and August. He played hardball with every person they brought in except to land his big receiver. EVERYONE on this site knew he fucked up back in August....AUGUST.

Throw some icing on the cake that he has 2 horrible drafts that have left this team with no secondary..nobody to replace Harris..nobody to push any of our supposed A+ offensive linemen. He failed at getting a franchise QB and I would let him even pass on that one. He drafted several receivers in a receiver filled draft that cant even make it on the field.

What really bothers the shit out of me is when some posters that defend this guy use the nonsensical "its only been 2 years' CRAP. That is crap. Going into season 3, he would have to hit on every single draft pick to even make this roster a potential 2 or 3 years ...we could be better.

And for the last part...and I will kill myself for this because I never criticized it at the time..but how the F can guys labeled as CAP GURUS pick talent? Only the Jets take that line seriously. Tanny was Parcells CAP GURU. What the F does that even mean? Shouldn't you have a TALENT guru and then hire a CAP GURU and pay him 100 k a year? What the hell is a guru anyway?

Ok..I digress. In my mind, there is no way in the world Woody keeps this guy as the GM..no way. Woody hopefully has someone in the NFL screaming in his ear that this guy has completely screwed this team up. Forget about potential free agents because apparently, Idzik is not very well liked...but honestly...I have one question for those that defend this guy.

IS THERE ANY REAL JET FAN THAT TRUSTS THIS GUY WITH ANOTHER DRAFT? Seriously...are guys out there? Is there anyone that really believes this guy even knows what he is looking for? I hear the stuff about Bradway still being employeed and I get that...but still...a GM really needs outside help to pick normally 7 guys out of thousands?

When you have 22 million dollars sitting in a bank...and you just got done drafting, what was it, 12 players this past draft? You end up with a roster like this? You get fired in the real world. Fired.

and for the record, I will easily say it. If Idzik had used SOME of that money and gotten 2 solid DB's, this team would have had a much better year...regardless of the qb. This team would have had a much better year. Even Ryan could have saved his job...and Im not a huge fan but really feel for the guy with the position he was put in. Pryor cant even be judged this season with the guys he played next to.

The front 7 was good enough...the linebackers were good enough for the most part. The running game could have been good enough. Only the Jaguars and the Titans gave up more points in the AFC this year...and nobody can say that much of that had to do with the front 7. Did the front 7 slowly burn out from the horrible play behind them? Maybe...but Idzik put his HC and all of the other 9 starters on defense on the chopping block with such a selfish...self centered lack of action.

    F'in deplorable.

When you are a guy in that position. Then you have to make tough choices. Really would hate to be in his position where tough choices are made!

Got me there... When somebody stalks me and posts my home address and business on a public forum, I say "my"... That is solid evidence that this is all about "me".

You won't find any of OUR supporters spewing that nonsense though... Ask JayWayne if he thinks any of this is about "me".

I don't think Kerley is easily replaceable. I think he could start on most teams and would look a lot better with decent QB play, not even great QB play

The lack of humility coupled with the messianic complex is really poor form, clyde. For someone who obviously doesn't care for criticism, that's a really bad combo. No matter what you think your thousands of supporters think.
