How about some serious realistic predictions along the line of those in the post that started this thread: Ferguson and Mangold improve and become blue chip OL Jones solidifies the running game Smith emerges as a legitimate #3 WR Vilma plays at a pro bowl level again Barton plays like he did in 2004 Pouha stays healthy and becomes the run stopping NT the Jets sorely need Miller steps up and starts at CB Coleman is what Parcells told Tanny he was Some rookies step in and fill some holes Pennington , with an offseason to strengthen his arm and learn the offense, rather than rehabbing again, improves his TD to INT ratio back to his career level of 2 to 1 Baker grabs the starting TE job and holds it with a solid year - 400 yards and 6 TDs Hobson continues to thrive in the 3-4 and takes his game up another notch If half of these things happen, and none of them are unrealistic, the Jets will be back in the playoffs.
Nice work-- I like it. The LB's you mentioned- as well as BT having a similar season, and maybe adding a rookie, could really be the difference. Hobson played really well last year-- 100 tackles, and 6 sacks. Most of our guys are still young, and are learning a new system- there is certainly room for these guys to improve in year 2 of the 3-4.
