The last few games Zach had better protection thanks to the replacement of Van Rotten with an actual NFL starting guard. Even so he only hit more than 60% of his passes in two out of his last seven games. He threw far too many uncatchable balls. I understand the deep passes more as the timing is more difficult but watching short dump off throws to RBs go far off the mark.
not really. sure LDT helped but I think your forgetting that GVR, feeny, mcdermott, edoga and isiah williams, all came in due to injuries during that span. Week 14 Fant, AVT, Mcgovern, LDT, Moses week 15 was Mcdermott, AVT, Mcgovern, LDT, Moses week 16 due to injury this was his o-line Fant, Feeny, Mcgovern, GVR, Moses (who missed 6 snaps and mcdermoot came in) week 17 we had Edoga, AVT, Feeny, LDT, Moses. I can't find week 18 but pretty sure we had some backups as well. really outside of week 14 the o-line was pretty bad off due to injuries. mcdermott starting at LT was rough, as was feeny and GVR as our starting OGs week 16, and feeny our starting center week 17. On top of that we had no davis or moore for the final 5 weeks. also no crowder for the final 3 weeks. missing your top 2 WRs 2 games plus your top 3 3 more games is brutal. our healthy WRs were just not getting open and the beat up o-line couldn't hold up protection. No QB would have succeeded there. stats w/o context don't mean much
The Jets will never have a winning record if their quarterback has "good games" that don't produce points. The QB cannot be satisfied scoring only what the defense will "give him" when they only give him three touchdowns in five games.
