You do realize he hasnt actually hired schottenheimer yet right? My bet is that we will have to wait to hear who our head coach is going to be until after, the Ravens lose. That way they will have had a chance to interview all their top guys. Spags is going to interview this weekend because the Giants have a bye. The Ravens Rex Ryan cannot interview until the Ravens are eliminated, or they have won the Super Bowl. Schottenheimer will get an interview as well, so will Brian, and Bill Callahan (today I believe) they might bring in Mike Shannahan as well for an interview. also guys like Martz, Billick, and Fassel are out there. Not saying these are guys I want, but I believe these are guys who could get a look as a dark horse for the job. As I have said in several threads the past few days. Rex Ryan is the guy I want, so i hope the Ravens lose as soon as possible.
And one of the most explosive RBs in the game in Leon Washington. Not a bad 1-2 punch, plus a top notch FB who was badly underused.
Yes I realize that, but you tell me that this doesn't stink of Marty coming in. I'd say there's a better chance of Marty being here next year than any other candidate. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. I hate this team right now.
I would love to have Marty as our new head coach. He's gotten a bad name because of his struggles in the post season, but the guy has 11 seasons with 10+ wins. He's 200-126 for his career in the regular season. The man knows how to coach. Maybe Marty and the Jets can both get the playoff monkey of their backs together.
Our coach had to go, no doubt, but maybe not the day after we didnt make the playoffs. Woody is thinking like a fan, which is bad for a team. He thought Cohwer would come here, and he had no other plan after that.
You are totally correct and for the losers that say that Woody at least had the balls to fire Mangini, you are way off base. He needed one more year without Sutton, Shotenheimer and Prima Donna Farve to develop his team and be judged at that point. This organization has always been a joke and will not change till Woody sells to someone who made their money on their own and were not part of the lucky sperm club like him. Those people are the clueless ones because they never built something on their own. Tennanbaum for not having the balls to lay this out and then throwing Mangini under the bus should be canned for that alone.
The Jets organization is terrible and I can understand why some want to believe that perhaps a new coach will change things. But it won't. Truth is hard to deal with. This organization is done and the moment we ALL realize this, then and only then something might be done about it.
Mangini could have gotten rid of Sutton or Schottenheimer before this year, but he didn't. You're point about Woody does not play out in reality - self made guys like dan snyder and mark cuban haven't won any championships either.
