they aren't accountable to the public. that is like saying Petro needs to have a press conference to address why there are so many dumb fuck members of the TGG and so many stupid threads. Petro isn't accountable to us. we are fans and they want our money and loyalty, but that in no way equates to them having any accountability to us in which we are privy to know everything that goes on in the operation of the team, from reasoning for why a personnel move is made to why a certain player didn't sign. just dumb.
I agree. A shared press conference between all the teams listed explaining stuff AND things. No, no wait. That doesn't make sense. Things and stuff. That seems like a logical order. I do like the point about the Jets not doing the same old, same old that hasn't worked. This team, by all accounts, in a bit of cap trouble this year and next. Build through the draft and see where you end up. Hope we go OLB and S first two rounds. Now THAT'S a news conference I'd watch.
So I guess you must've enjoyed trying out your WAH-WAH session while waiting for the car to warm up. This must have been what your 2nd, even 3rd wah-wah since you hit adulthood? You're going to be crying like a little girl on a regular basis in no time.
Hey thanks. By the way, you never did tell me what your username was in your previous account. You know, the one you told me about via PM? Oh, I'm sorry, was I being grimy again?
desperate and you're reaching for anything to cling to, but none of it makes sense. hunter and 2 1/2 million mistake! holmes? don't even need to go there. the jets are stuck with the cancer whether they like it or not. sanchize, he is not. game manager at best! as far as better teams doing nothing in free agency, what about the pats, saints and even the bengals stole a player right from under the front offices nose. sunshiners you are, but being honest you're not.
Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing, I suggest you re-read Br4dw4y5ux's post. And he is right, the better teams are very precise and don't go crazy in free agency. Other than Lloyd, who have the Pats signed? They have about 20 free agents anyway. Saints haven't done all that much other than replace their free agents that have left and are still negotiating with Brees. Cincy a better team? Are you high? They didn't "steal a player from under the FO noses" they re-signed their own player and had 5x the cap space we do.
It's not like we were spurned by John Lynch again. It was Reggie fuckin Nelson. He went back to his old team after they upped their offer, wow the Jets did such a bad job not overpaying for him.
We all want to see this team win..but really? You make mention of no safety taken in the last 5 drafts. But for one that isn't exactly true b/c Dwight lowery was taken as a DB in 2008. Secondly from 2000-2007 the Jets drafted 7 DB/safeties(Tony Scott,Jamie Henderson,Jon Mcgraw,Derek Pagel,Rashad Washington,Andre Maddox, Kerry Rhodes & Eric Smith).Additionally since 2000 the jets have brought in several free agent safeties including Damien Robinson,Reggie tongue, & Jim Leonard. So if your contention is that somehow the Jets have shunned the safety position...I would say that's extremely false. As for Ducasse...you want the team to give up on a player 2 years into his career? Really? Then if/when he goes elsewhere and becomes a starting RT, you'll bitch that the Jets didn't have enough patience with him or that they can't develop young linemen. Some draft picks take time. Why is that so hard to comprehend and deal with?
Stop with this nonsense. The way to win in this league is to freak out and fire everyone from the GM down to the ball boy and start from scratch whenever you run into a little adversity. The good teams in the league have proven this over and over again.
I can honestly say the only thing I was looking for in this FA was a RT, I am sure we will do fine in the draft filling the rest of our holes.. YOUTH WINS. Although in the words of BP, for every rookie you start you will lose one game. But even with that being said I am willing to sit back and take a deep breath and wait for the draft.
I seriously doubt half the posters on this board complaining would know who Reggie Nelson was if he weren't a first round pick out of school. And even then, people still probably didn't know, they just want something to bitch about. I like the 3 moves the Jets have made so far. We need another S, another TE, possibly a RB and a WR, and a pass rusher. Still plenty of time in FA and the draft to find these players. But let's just all panic instead.
I'm one of the ones who does know who RFN is, seeing as I watched him play at Florida. The guy can be scary good, and was spectacular in college. Can't say I've seen him play at the NFL level much after leaving Jax. Regardless, I was disappointed we didn't sign him. Reggie can be great if he is in the right place.
Kurt, you actually miscounted. We drafted NINE SAFETIES (not 7) between 2000-2006. 2006: Eric Smith 2005: Kerry Rhodes, Andre Maddox 2004: Erik Coleman, Rashad Washington 2003: Derek Pagel 2002: Jon McGraw 2001: Jamie Henderson 2000: Tony Scott It just so happens all of them sucked minus Rhodes, Smith, and Coleman. At least McGraw is still in the NFL (Henderson's injury sabotaged him). As for Ducasse, I'm far from sold on him as an NFL starter, but he's still young and last year he got screwed in terms of offseason development. He was a project when we drafted him, 1.5 years of development is not time to bail on that. He's still got the size and strength. If he is miserable in camp and they dump him, fine. But he deserves another full offseason. Make or break year for him in terms of his Jets future.
