if gholston and dmc are gone, this draft could still be extremely positive for the jets. they could get the best corner in the draft and the pats wouldnt get mcfadden or the best player at their 2 positions of need: de/olb and cb

also, does anyone think that parcells might take gholston at 1?

The ideal situation would be to see if somone (NO, DEN and CIN come to mind) would trade up for Dorsey and Ellis. Asuming a trade down is not possible, drafting the best CB available is likely the way to go.

Good position? I'm not so sure. The only ones at that point who may represent a good value talent-wise would be Dorsey and Ellis. Two good prospects that the Jets have absolutely no need for. Everyone else would be a reach.

Not at one, thats too much money to a guy who's motor is still slightly questionable.

But I have seen one mock draft where he went to the Rams.

Sweed would be an epic reach at 6. I'd take McKelvin most likely in that spot.

BPA, BPA, BPA. Simple as that. the jets should draft sedrick ellis in this spot because plain and simple, he is the best player at that spot. He can do well in the 3-4. He has the size to play DE and it would fill a need. To me, there is no really good cornerback, none that are worthy of a top 10 pick. Good teams draft the best player available at their spot unless they have a superstar at that position. Similar to the vikings drafting Adrian Peterson. AP was the best player at that spot, and even though they had chester taylor coming off a very good year.

You're right. Our FA signings have given us that option and flexibility. But what if BPA @ 6 = Dorsey or Ellis, then that wouldn't work.

why wouldn't ellis work. Mayock- who a bunch of people on the board regard him as the best draft analysis and act as though the words coming out of his mouth are holy doctrine- believes he can be a NT in a 3-4. If he can play NT i can't see why he couldn't play DE in the 3-4. I think he has the size and great penetrating ability. Ellis seems like a no brainer to me at #6 if run dmc and gholston are gone.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie gets my vote. Tall, fast, strong. Best in class.
