That was fucking awesome. Really interested to see if that was an angle or not.... it probably is. As others have said, the Attitude Era truly was the peak of wrestling. It won't be that good again.
CM Punk's facebook (by WWE) got deleted. It was in my hero section or whatever lol. I really doubt this is a worked shoot. I can't see Vince letting Punk do that. Either way tho it was EPIC and now we'll probably see another Cena and Truth match :/
Honestly, is there anyone in this business better then Punk? I don't even feel that Jericho comes close to him.
SPOILER!! http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish/WWE/article10019268.shtml John Cena's music played but he didn't come out. It stopped and out came Mr. McMahon to a decent reaction. He said that the C.M. Punk suspension has gotten out of hand and the camera man fixed his tie. He said Punk deserved to be suspended for what he said. He said this was about what was right for the fans. McMahon said he really suspended Punk because he wanted limo service and wanted to be on DVDs and such and he wasn't worthy. He then said he fired Punk because he deserved it and he is a punk. Cena came out to a big reaction even in his third appearance tonight. He asked Vince if that was it? He accused Vince of kicking Punk to the curb and Vince said Punk kicked himself to the curb. Cena said Vince believes in free speech and Vince confirmed it. Cena then made fun of Vince's walk and said that Vince took everyone down because he's a fighter. He wondered why Vince wasn't a fighter now and said he wants to fight Punk. He said if Vince doesn't feel like fighting, he should hang it up. Vince said he really suspended Punk because be doesn't want to take a chance on Cena. He doesn't want to risk Cena losing to Punk and losing the title and taking it to another organization. He said he will not be embarrassed. Vince said he's afraid of Cena not beating Punk. Cena said he wanted this match regardless of Punk's status. Cena said if he was a fan, this sounds like the match of the year to him. He asked if Vince would suspend him for saying something Vince didn't like. Vince told Cena not to piss him off. He said not to be Hogan or any of the guys before him. Vince said he doesn't believe Cena can beat him. Cena said to take a chance and give the people what they want. Vince said he doesn't give a damn what the people want, it's his company and he does what is right for them. Cena said he gets it. He then said it's not what he signed up for. He said he busts his ass for Vince and he believes the belt stands for something. He said Vince is worried that the belt is meaningless, but by sending Punk away he made it meaningless. Cena handed the belt to Vince and walked out. Vince stopped him and followed him up the ramp. He stood face to face with Cena on the ramp and said Punk is reinstated and he has the match. Vince said that if Punk walks out of Chicago with the title, he is firing Cena.
This is easily the best storyline since the start of the Nexus invasion, I just really hope they dont drop the fucking ball on it like they're notorious for doing. My prediction: Punk actually wins and leaves with the title, this sets up a Cena heel turn, and the WWE introduces a new design for that horrid spinner belt.
Christian no way that happens. Did you read the supposed spoiler? Isn't Raw ALWAYS live? Cena will not lose a title match until WM...
Well why would they tape it in the same city and right after? That's terrible. It just ruins it. It also ruins the already ruined ppv results.
Well no shit but every once in a GREAT while something real (kayfabe) happens and it twists the company around. Phil was so convincing! That's why he's my favorite in the biz.
If it is scripted then WWE is doing a great job of it. It's not even on their website but you can find it on youtube..
I missed RAW last night (and was recording other things so didn't DVR it). I heard about this promo this morning. That was a great promo, but there's no way it wasn't scripted. He'd never have gotten that far through it (and would definitely have been cut off the moment he brought up Stephanie) and he reacted too quickly to the mic shutting off. It really seems like the WWE is trying to capture that past magic, but I just can't see it happening. Not when they make Orton a face or allow Cena to continue to be a face and champ. Now have Cena lose to Punk and get "fired" then return as a heel, and maybe you have something. But I'm not even sure that's enough. Who in today's WWE can compete with the likes of Austin, Rock, Undertaker, DX? Many of the best in today's business can't reach the second-teamers of the last days of the previous era, like the Dudleys, the APA, Edge & Christian, the Hardys. The worst thing Vince ever did was take the company public. At that point the business' purpose was no longer beholden to the fanbase, but to the stockholders. That meant that faces were the most important thing in the business. Faces sell t-shirts. Faces make movies. The heels are there to job, and nothing more. The Punk promo at least shows the WWE is aware of the problem. I'm not sure how they can fix it though. A civil war scenario maybe? Where guys have to pick sides between the company and the product. Make Cena choose against Vince and you might just have something.
If you guys read the spoilers then you can see that this is basically ruined already. No way in hell Cena loses at MITB.
LMFAO at 3:40. This was the best rivalry in the soap opera of WWE. How these guys never killed each other amazes me to this day.
