So what do you guys think of... A: John Cena finally doing a rap again? B: The 10 minute boring staredown/entrances/letdown comback(s)? C: No Rock..like I figured...
First time I watched Raw for more than 5 minutes in years... no Rock pissed me off since that was all I really cared about. Cena was at least entertaining for a few minutes. The Taker/HHH thing was beyond gay. From what I remember both were good on the mic, wtf was that?
The Cena return of thuganomics was awesome, and since I feel pretty much the same way about his as the rest of you, that's saying something. Kind of skirting the edges on the show's PG rating, but since the WWE is losing audience big time over the last year, its obvious the censorship is killing the product. Like I said, thank god Linda lost, now we can hopefully get back to a lot less Saturday morning cartoon shit and the return of some freakin attitude. The Taker-HHH thing was obviously rushed and forced at the last minute. Too easy to see, the whole Seamus winning KOTR thing was a setup for a return vs HHH at Mania, but since Brock Lesnar, and naybe even Sting turned down the match, it looks clear that WWE creative ran out of options and threw that together at the last minute. No buildup, no rivalry, no interst in it either, just a huge fuckup they wouldn't even try to sell. WTF was HHH supposed to say even if he had a microphone? I would rather have seen them go with the KOTR vs the King of Kings revenge match. Oh, well... A guy I work with runs a small time independant promotion. His people have brought in guys like Greg Valentine, Ole Anderson, whatever sad old bastards that will crawl in the ring for a couple hundred bucks. Their former champ was half of the TNA tag champs, so he says (I haven't watched TNA in months)...anyway, he's usually pretty good at guessing these things, he believes The Rock is going to screw Cena at Mania and cost him his match vs the Miz. So whatever that's worth.
I think Cena's character has potential if the whole business changes. I hate the Superman shit he has going for him. HHH/Taker - Couldn't have said it better. It will be an obvious Undertaker win yet again..don't think he will ever lose. I think he will Rock bottom both but Cena will still win ultimately.
HHH has been working on the business side behind the scenes for the last year, his days of huge ego are long gone. What he cares about is the future of the business, and part of that will be keeping the streak alive so people will have a reason to care about Mania next year.
That's very true..furthermore agreeing with what I said. I can see this being a match like last year.
Spoiler alert!! Sting returns to TNA, wins title. Looks like Hacket is getting a 1 week ban. GREAT SUCCESS
Great timing, now that he's getting so much attention in the TT forum BTW, Roddy Piper is touring as a stand-up comedian. That has potential, nobody that wild of a delivery since Kinison.
As per our deal, he's not gone till April 1. So he can still take his beating! I liked Roddy in that one alien movie, but eh, I don't think I could seperate wrestling Roddy with comedian ROddy.
Like usual Smackdown was weak. I'm a life-long Rock fan but I'm really on the fence of the rock/cena "rivalry" because cena made some good points..
Is Rock just back to cash in on wrestlemania and then split? his comeback speech made it sound like he was sticking around.
Last i saw, Rock will do at least one more appearance before Mania. Vince doesn't want to use him much beforehand, so people won't get overexposed and not bother with WM. After Mania, he could get set up in a rivalry vs Cena, if he does anything to screw Cena. That part of the story is my wishfull thinking.
I like how Cena thinks he is being edgy and whatnot by trashing Rocks acting career. 2 words for you, John: Twelve Rounds.
I can't believe I'm doing this but... in defense of Cena, he never stopped appearing on Raw even while shooting that movie. No matter your opinion (mine is mixed) he's in WWE to stay.
And the movie was terrible. OK, lets go with The Marine. That was terrible too. What has Cena done? Nothing.
