ahh. the time ur bringing up was fucking awesome for both companies as well. the nwo wasn't stale yet and the hart foundation vs america was the best angle going in 1997. I got into a huge argument with a friend of mine who said bret couldn't talk. go to 97. he was the best fuckin interview in the business. his anti-u.s. stuff is the stuff of a legend. i like ur style jake, this period is one of my favorite periods in wrestling.
Best feud ever. Period.
It was a year or so before my time. That feud was good I'm sure but nothing even comes close to Rock/Austin. Period.
Oh, for christ sake, I'm sick of this bullshit. At least once this gets out over the entire internet, it should make for an arena full of guys going "Woooo!!!" all night just to piss Vince off.
Yeah Rock/Austin was great too... but I'm talking Austin vs Corporate Rock in 1999. By the time they feuded in 2001 when both were babyfaces it got pretty lame.
Call that and raise you: E&C vs. Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz, First ever TLC matc, Wrestlemania 2000.
I know one of the newer NXT guys had a cut on the back of his head last week, and they cut the match out. But as for live TV, I haven't ever seen it. I do remember Shawn Michaels getting popped in the mouth by Rey Misterio a few months ago on raw and he was bleeding a pretty decent amount, So that would make it a "no" from me, at least for live tv like Raw.
TNA is WCW II. Seriously, wtf are they doing over there? With that said, I'd probably sooner watch a TNA show than the garbage WWE puts out there these days.
Hopefully when Heyman and Spike agree on a deal (yeah, the network is hiring him, I guess they're tired of watching their investment going down the toilet) The writing will improve. Paul Heyman is a step up from Hogan's old WCW cronies, and ECW was the origin of the "attitude" era, so I hope he can turn it around. WWE is too interested in kids and clean shows, Fuck you Linda McMahon, for ruining my Mondays. I hope you lose by a landslide and never try this shit again.
That, Mankind/Undertaker Hell in a Cell 1998, and I hate to say it, but Cena/Edge at Unforgiven in 2006 was absolutely phenomenal are all among my top 5.
Mankind/Undertaker at KOTR 98 set the bar so high for cage, hardcore, and cell matches that the WWE has never been able to live up to that standard. If someone doesn't fly off the cage or land on tacks it's considered boring. That match was absolutely insane. Mankind's fall through the roof of the cell wasn't even planned.
Is anyone else noticing that they're pretty much completly wasting the talent that is John Morrison? I really thought this guy would end up in the Main Event picture by now but they continue to shit on him every week. The guy just needs to work on his mic skills and he would be ok.
HHH Cactus Jack 2000 sucked to me because it wasn't like that match but yet it was still in reality a great match. mick foley for life
He is one of the most talented wrestlers in the world in my opinion. His mic spills are average at best. His gimmick is terrible, and his finisher does NO damage realistically but yes I see his potential. Speaking of which, what's up with this push of Evan Bourne the past month? jesus chriiiist
I actually feel TNA has made some nice strides of late. They have gotten rid of almost all the crap that they brought in (Hall,x-pac,the nasties,Val Venis and making Abyss some kind of superman character),they've started managing the roster quite well with the different fueds, the backstage realism promos are quite good and the top ten rankings system is a great way to build up matches and fueds.
I quite like Morrison's gimmick,I loved his internet series that he done with the Miz.Although I haven't seen him in ages,I do wonder if he could do the serious types of promos.
Apparently John Cena went to WWE management and said they would drop the ball with another talent if they didnt give Evan Bourne a push sometime soon.
I agree about Morrison's mediocre gimmick, but at least it's better when he was in MNM. I love watching his matches, they just need to set him up for something other than crappy rivalries with the Dolph Zigglers of the world. As for Evan Bourne, I think he's great, but he doesn't have anyone to wrestle. He would have been awesome ten years ago in WCW's cruiserweight division wrestling Kidman and Psychosis, but I have no clue what his place is in today's WWE.
