Just finished reading his autobiography. Got it for Christmas last year and started reading when I saw Evan Roberts tweet about Bret hosting. I guess I'll have to watch it, he was one of my favorites as kid until he turned heel, but even looking back before I read the book, he was back to being one of my favorites because of how well he played the heel.
I think he has more then a 1 night guest host role. He has a contract that ends some time after Wrestlemania.
i wouldnt put it past him, especially after Ricky Steamboat put on one of the best matches at Wrestlemania against Chris Jericho. Bret is a technical wrestler and thats not something you lose with age so i fully expect a good match from him. He wasnt the excellence of execution for nothing. FYI: His autobiography is really good, he doesnt pull any punches and its cool to read about how wrestling life really is and his relationships with other wrestlers. On a sidenote, Chris Jericho's autobiography(i think its called "a lion's tale") is hilarious
Bret had a stroke a few years back and can in no way wrestle ever again. He isnt capable but he will do something to further the Bret vs Vince storyline,
Bret can't take a bump due to the stroke. I seen Bret a couple months ago and he looks like shit. Could barely walk down stairs. So an actual wrestling match is out of the question. This will end up being some kind of Vince vs Bret street fight at WM or maybe even a ref or something for Shawns match.
Nothing says I'm sorry like a nut kick. I just wonder how they're going to parlay this into a steady role for Brett. I was so sure he'd be the permanent (read: until Wrestlemania) GM of Raw.
Kind of sad really. TNA is trying to become what WCW was in the nineties....with the same guys. Problem is, they are all in their late forties, early fifties now. It will hold interest for a little while. Hell I checked it out for a little bit, but it seemed like amatuer night there. I don't even know what the hell Nash was trying to say. Nash, Hogan, Xpac, Hall, Flair, Sting.....the nineties called, it's over.
dude....WCW in the 90's was the shit.....i would take that over the current wrestling roster any day of the week. The stuff nowadays is totally unwatchable....I haven't watched WWE in like 2 years....it's horrible.
I never watched it, perhaps it was good. But you realize, that we are talking about guys who were stars 10, 15, 20 years ago now.
oh...they're certainly washed up.....but what does that say about the current talent roster....when TNA and the WWE must bring back characters from the 90's to beat eachother in the ratings. Sadly, wrestling is garbage now.
Yea, I thought that. Especially when watching Michaels confront Brett, I mean they had epic matches....20 years ago. I just can't see a show with Hulk Hugan the egomaniac running the show surviving. I mean that guy thinks he is god.
I've quit watching in the past year as well. WWE is just boring, esp. since they are going the kid-friendly route. Some of these newer guys are much better athletes, but it seems like everything that can be done in wrestling that is entertaining has already been done. Same old routine. Its sad, but I would rather watch Flair and Hogan, even though they are 100 years old. At least it makes me somewhat remember when it was interesting. They are hard to watch too. Kind of like watching your old dog try to jump into the back of the truck like he did when he was a puppy.
I haven't watched wrestling for years. I don't really care much for TNA's octogon ring. That said, was i the only person who honestly thought that x-pac and Hall were washing dishes at a Denny's somewhere. I can deal with Nash and even Hogan. But X-pac and Hall were irritating as they come 20 years ago. At least TNA has some talent. WWE just has a bunch of random joe athletes. It's like the clone wars or something. Nothing about them stands out. They could all actually be the same dude.
