I was going to pick him in the death pool, now I'm wondering why I passed him up. Of course, he won't be OD'ing in prison anyway. Pro Wrestler Faces Drug Charges JEFFREY NERO HARDY Professional wrestler Jeff Hardy was arrested Friday on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills and possession of anabolic steriods. Hardy, 32, of 265 Boys Camp Road, Cameron, was arrested after a search of his residence yielded 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia, according to a press release. A joint investigation conducted by officers with the Moore County Sheriff's Office narcotics and select enforcement units and the Fayetteville Police Department led to the arrest. Vicodin and anabolic steriods are Schedule III substances, while Soma is a non-controlled prescription pill. Hardy and his brother, Matt, wrestling as the Hardy Boyz, were six-time World Wrestling Entertainment World Tag Team Champion. Individually, Jeff Hardy held the WWE World Champion belt one time and the World Heavyweight Championship twice. Hardy was charged with felony trafficking in opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $125,000 bond Friday
No, his contract expired and he wanted to take time off to do a reality show. Him getting busted is a coincidence. I've read theorys about how the "anonnymous tip" they got was from someone within the WWE as a form of payback for leaving them.
You can't stand Phish, you think wrestling is gay...I'm starting to think we've grown apart over the years
I remember reading the WWE would welcome Jeff back after he was done taking time off, doubt they take him back now.
Got back from Hell in a Cell a little while ago, it was a lot of fun. Something really great about the atmosphere in a place like that. It's like half of the arena was there to be serious about wrestling, and the other half was there to mock them and boo Cena. I imagine watching it on PPV was a little disappointing, because some of the matches were just wastes. Really disappointed with the way the Morrison-Ziggler match went, but at least JM won with some excitement.
I saw the first match which I thought sucked and then my live stream got cut off. Overall, sounded like a very dissapointing pay-per-view. It really made no sense for Punk to drop the title to Undertaker. Undertaker doesnt need the WHC this late in his career. Wish they would have made Punk look like a legitimate champion and give him a good long run with the title, they havent had one in god knows how long.
I can see what you mean with that. It should probably be Batista if anyone. I'm just glad that Orton is the champ again. They have made him one of the greatest heels in a very long time.
I haven't watched wrestling since like April or so. Is it good right now? I recorded the Smackdown anniversary show last Friday, but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Maybe with baseball season wrapping up I can find some time to watch some WWE.
The Anniversary show wasn't bad. I also don't watch nearly as much as I used to, and with football(both college and pro) back, I figure to watch even less. Regardless! I watched a stream of Hell In A Cell, and I'm just glad I didn't pay for it. Cena is annoying and his schtick is old and stale. The John Deere style hats are rediculous. I hate to say it, but Cena needs an injury so he can get repackaged. He is boring right now. I want to see Jericho drop the tag titles already and get back into the World Title picture. He is EASILY the best superstar in the WWE. They're wasting him with the tag titles. Undertaker carrying the title, I think, is just an ode to his stellar career. He has to be coming to an end soon, he gets injured far too much and moves too stale. Morrison needs to get out of this stupid program with Ziggler. Morrison is a star in the making and Ziggler....is not. I'd have liked to have seen The Miz pick up the title from Kofi Kingston, but Kofi is still an entertaining champion. And if I ever see another Diva match, it'll be too soon.
I think the best part of the anniversary show was Rock announcing he was going to be a Raw guest host. I imagine its going to be the Raw at Madison Square Garden in November. As for the WWE has a whole, I have a ideas for cleaning some of their mess up: - Stop having their heels be such pussies. I can get that heels have to be underhanded sometimes, and cheating, hitting the ref, getting DQed, etc. are always heel staples, but why do they have to be cowards? Like why is Randy Orton afraid of every face wrestler there is? He's won straight up matches over just about everyone, including a pretty good iron man match vs. Triple H. Why make him such a bitch all the time? I'd prefer my heels be dominating, which would make any victory by a face that much more impressive. - Make Chris Jericho a good guy again. He doesn't need to be a face or anything, but why not. He gets the biggest positive pop of any wrestler in the company, and that's not going to change. He excels at both sides, but I think they desperately need his personality to get away from this whole everyone sucks angle. I think he vs. CM Punk would be one hell of a rivalry, and it would give Punk a chance to test his heel side against someone with actual mic talent. - Break up Legacy. It's been great, they've more than served their purpose, but now I think it's time for DiBiase and Rhodes to set out on their own. Next draft would be a good time for it, and have them start out for the 2nd tier belts on each show. I'm pretty confident DiBiase can be an eventual front line guy, but I'll have to see with Rhodes. In the mean time, I think them against guys like Ziggler, Morrison, Kingston, Swagger, etc. would be pretty good. - Less Divas as wrestlers, more Divas as managers. WWE has ignored the principle that a really good manager can carry a wrestler with limited mic skills pretty far, and they should consider bringing that back. - Get some people that aren't terrible at everything to be the GMs. Vickie Guerrero and Theodore Long are miserable actors, have worse characters, and are legitimately wastes of time. The Raw guest GM thing is getting old too, I'm tired of the wasted time watching some of these people try to fit in. - Give me a faction. An honest, significant faction. I remain steadfast that a new nation of domination could really boost some careers if they went for it. MVP is stale as a face, Mark Henry could use some storyline not involving a tiny leprechaun hat and Hornswaggle, and Shelton Benjamin is way too talented for ECW. - On that note, kill ECW. It's freaking terrible. Or at least get Christian off of there and onto a real show. Have him switch over about when Edge comes back and you have two quality, mic talented main eventers to add to the picture. - Oh, and one more thing. Batista sucks at everything.
I haven't been watching for the past few months, although I did watch a stream of HIAC, but holy fuck, I'd so go to that if it was at the Garden.
You made some good points Hurricane. Personally, I think Jericho makes an awesome heel and I can see them building up a Wrestlemania match between Jericho and Edge. Maybe even Bigshow and Jericho remain partners and set up for a possible fued with E+C. I mean how great would that be if Edge and Christian had a reunion and then Christian turned heel again and fueded with Edge.
Please no Batista. As GH said he really sucks at everything. I do agree though on Orton, the whole Legacy thing was awesome to watch. In terms of Taker being the champ...eh I'm indifferent. I will say this. Smackdown kicks the shit out of raw right now and its not even close. I'm high on both Morrison and Ziggler, and while Raw has a nice sprinkle of younger guys like Swagger (who i think is a future monster) Miz and Kofi going after the US title, dx, cena and the main money faces are way past stalesville. Let Shawn be Shawn on his own damnitt dx forces him into some lame ass side kick ass kissing role on triple h.
I think they're starting to build up swagger into a shot at one of the world titles, whether he stays on Raw or goes to Smackdown. Getting him away from the US Title picture was a good first step, because as much as I like Kofi Kingston as a wrestler, he's one dimensional. I wouldn't mind seeing Edge come back as a face, and if he were teamed with Christian I would honestly think they'd get a more positive reaction than even Jericho. The one thing that would keep me from doing that though is that both Edge and Christian are legitimate main eventers, and if the WWE didn't even want the Hardys back together when only one was even borderline main event, then they might not want to do that with E+C either.
