Yes I agree hope is wonderful & terrific but that alone does not win SBs & what U see on paper or perceive as being "good" not always works out that way since in any given off season 1 team can over leap another becoming stronger & making the "hope" U saw disappear into the air as fast as you can say New York Jets
Guess he has a quite parochial view of the world. U know if U live in SE Florida U must root for the fags. If U live in Cleveland U must root for the Browns & so on & so forth
Haha, never thought of it this way before. I actually AM supporting my nearest NFL team hmy: ( I think :scuttles away to calculator:)
Except for when he went into his code red mode & hired BP I would agree but if you measure his 10 years ownership vs Hesses last ten years ownership they are about even steven when it comes to records & appearing in the AFCCG.
Did champ seriously just use the word "FAGS" when referring to the Dolphins? hah! winner winner chicken dinner!
With a heavy heart, I have to admit your right , 3169 to Foxboro, Massachusetts, United States :sad:ats_suck: Does this mean I have to become a Patsie fan, or can I stay, I like it here.
Champ, it was asked earlier and I'm not sure if you answred it or not... But say it's Year 17 of the Woody era and they finally win... That's only 1 "VLT" in 17 years...Isn't that awful?
But he was bought out in Spring '68, so he wasn't the owner for Super Bowl III. Sonny was 0-5 in his seasons as owner in bringing the Lombardi home (although I guess he gets a pass for the first three years when there was no Super Bowl).
Sorry U R mistaken he was a owner & was in the clubhouse hoisting the VLT with JWN!. He was bought out after SB3 by Hess (ugh)
Pats for closest NFL team (but you can stay here if you like) How about... http://www.rhinos.it/ Brock Smitch just got signed as the new QB...
This thread is turning into the classic Champ thread I predicted it would become. The classic bait and kill. One by one they begin to buckle under the unmercifully relentless bombardment.
You tried to warn them but they didn't listen. I have avoided arguing with Champ at point blank range since I joined. Although I will throw my .02 when necessary...
Not quite, my heart is heavy because my nearest NFL team is the :spits: Pats. I must be one of the few peeps here that enjoy Champs posts. Call me sad if you like, but I like the fact that posters like Champ can remember what its like to win the big one, and I like being around folks like that. I know what its like to watch a team become F'n great, then be crap for years and years and years, and you wonder when this cycle is going to stop, so I kinder empathise with him. His attitude makes me warm to him even more, oh is that unfashionable to say that? :breakdance: Our fanbase has many 'Champs', I just wish that more of them would post, especially from that magical era of SBIII. I was 2 years old and didn't get a TV until I was 10, 1976 in case your wondering. No one that I knew even knew what American football was until the early 80s. Before the WWW, many like me have become NFL (Jets) sponges and try to soak up what we could via magazines and limited TV, now we have the WWW, we can virtually get what you guys do, BUT I still do not know anyone who lived through that glorious era in person.
Why would you take Hess hiring BP over Woody being the new owner? Did BP or Hess ever bring a VLT? They were unsuccessful by your own standards (with the Jets), why would you take an unsuccessful owner/coach? Atleast the Woody era is still alive and has a shot at bringing in the VLT just like any current owner does.
