It's too late for you now. Don't try to suck up or use reason to get out of this... it won't work. You took the bait and now you're in it but good. God Bless you my friend, and may God have mercy on your soul.
You could be a Lions or Browns fan, there team has never even been to a SB, they may never see their team in the SB EVER the way things are going there But hey at least were on our way, we'll get there someday, be a little bit more patient, can't have your cake and eat it too man But I guess it's easier for me to get let down, being an Orlando Magic fan (been to 2 NBA finals and only won a grand total of 2 games woopiee)
I'm sure there patience has worn thin as well. As for them never getting there the NFL is quite flukey & anything can happen see Arizona last year So you are saying waiting 41 years is not being patient long enough?
Back when Woody bought them I was secretly hoping for Trump even though it was rumored he was blackballed by the NFL for what he did with the USFL. As for RR he earned his stripes so to speak & I hope he can get us over the hump
See SB III. We actually had a pretty good season (11-3), and quite rightly were under dogs, so yes luck has alot to do with it, then and now. This season we were lucky to play a Colts team with one eye on resting players, then another team who were suddenly on the slide, of course we were on the up to, but luck how the schedule pinged up the games when they did.
I think the stadium is an interesting issue. Woody promised that he would get the jets his own stadium and he didn't so until he does it will always be a black mark against him. I think had he just built a stadium in queens or long island he could have made just as much or more than the money he will make in the meadowlands (just gut feel because fans would be excited, but i could be wrong). We tend to forget building a stadium on your own isn't easy if you don't get state help and there is no guarantee that new york would help the jets. BOTTOM LINE FOR ME: He has put a solid product on the field. It's very difficult to win championships, some jet fans just don't appreciate the luck that is involved. I really don't care that much about the stadium and being the first team in new york. For me its about being competitive and winning championships. Yeah the championships aren't there, but winning playoff games are still something special. He is much better than Leon Hess, that's for sure
Yep I see the logic of your post & yes if Morral had seen Orr all alone in the EZ before the end of the 1st half in SB 3 things may have been much different. But he did not & instead threw a INT which naturally allowed us to end the half with the lead. The same this time when the Colts yanked there starters & then we played a Bungle team on the way down twice
Mrs. Krabappel and Principal Skinner were in the closet making babies and I saw one of the babies and the baby looked at me.
I'm not a gambling man, (see my Vcash ), but by the law of averages, our 'turn' has to be coming pretty soon. Right now I'm enjoying the ride and the high, despite falling short, and boy that took some getting over. God knows how you guys THAT side of the pond dealt with it, I felt physically sick for 2 days. This team deserves our support, so does the behind the scenes regime. We have consistency had good drafts, bar the odd exception and have IMO a good ethic that will reap dividends soon enough....
what would be the percentage scale of championships that would make his tenure a success? even if the Jets win next season, that's just 1-11 for him by your standard or evaluation, a 9% rate of success. so, despite the championship, would you still consider it a failure with such a low rate of success? for your argument of championships as the only measure of success, you have to define what percentage of championships and duration that would be successful. of course this requires you to actually think logically about the concepts you are spewing rather than just the ridiculous "no championship = complete failure" nonsense.
