I did say blacks AND hippies.

Lots of people don't like the war on drugs as proven by most of the posts on this board.

My question to you is "does the confirmation that is was started as a way to target unliked Americans makes you feel a certain way?" And iyo "would this conformation make it any easier to back out of the war?"

How we got here doesn't matter and doesn't help solve anything. It needs to be fixed.

Ok, I'll play: first off, no need to read this old news/old hat story. The White House's "plant the stuff on them" mindset targeting was already ordained knowledge. That the NYDaily News would even run with this stale bread let alone on the front page pretty much shows it for what it is: a hollow victory lap of useless, 2016-irrelevant partisanship and why the major media's not picking up on it - they've bigger and much fresher fish to fry.

Hippies: Nixon hated hippies? You mean the same guy who referred to the 4 killed Kent St. students as bums? Like, no shit.

Blacks: Paranoid Dick Nixon had an "enemies list" compiled that included none other than noted insurrectionist Joe Willie Namath (who btw was listed as: "Quarterback, New York Giants). An obviously very uptight guy who would view Joe Namath as a potential threat to the state just might dislike/distrust blacks? What a revelation...

More uncanny sleuthmanship by the NY Daily News, Gotham's best.

    Source?
Besides Nixon took it a step (or a mile) further. Not just "planting stuff" but in essence changing the punishment of said stuff emencely and going after said "stuff" with unprecedented vigor.

Btw. The daily news isn't the only news source that covered this recently released interview, many did. But none of them were major networks... But you're right they were too busy with bigger and fresher fish like "what did trump say today" and "can the republican establishment stop trump". Really cutting edge, huh?

Fair enough. I don't actually buy the daily news but them and the post have the most fun headlines.

Say no to school, eat your drugs, and stay in vegetables.

Yeah that's a bunch of bullshit. Marijuana needs to be legalized everywhere. Soon will be in Vermont so I won't have to go far to get it. So long as I have my weed, beer, and stimulants(the docs provide those). I'm good. The rest of the shit can stay in the warzone. Heroin especially has to go. Can't have people dying over it, that's too far. People distributing it belong in jail.

What makes you think we're suddenly going to be able to stop Heroin trafficking? The only thing the war on drugs does is empower violent drug cartels and make them rich.

Wouldn't it be better if it were sold freely, taxed and the tax money was spent on treatment?

Exactly what has the war on drugs accomplished?

Convenient for you to think drugs you use should be legal but nothing else.

Baby steps. Start with weed. Make that easily accessible and the market for the harder stuff will probably soften. Not that I disagree with you on the economics or politics of prohibition. Complete disaster.

Yup legalize my drugs, the rest can go fuck themselves lol. No but seriously, I don't know if your idea is realistic. No politician will run on it. most people won't support such a system. Maybe in a very long time, say 100+ years, I just don't see how it is possible at the moment.

The idea is a shock to the normal way of thinking I guess. But if you look at the facts of what the WOD has actually done, I think it makes a whole lot of sense to most people.
