No, I think the most likely scenario is we keep Spadola and Bohanon and try to sneak Rogers and Freeman on to the practice squad and very possibly lose both of them in the process. The Jets need to look really hard at players like Clyde Gates and Vlad Ducasse and ask themselves if they really want to expose good young developmental prospects to the waiver wire in order to keep a low percentage prospect on his third strike on the roster.
Gates is a shoe in to make the roster as he should be. He's made plays all camp & in the preseason. Looks like a very solid #3-4 to me. I can buy the "3 strike" rule on Vlad. That said he's currently in the mix at the starting lg competition, is the only back-up w/ experience at OT & frankly nobody appears better suited to be the Jets "6th man" in the trenches.
