You know who else has experience? Mark Sanchez. Kubiak and Elway went with a guy who's taken one NFL snap to start over him. That's the defending Superbowl champs. Sanchez is also obviously better than Geno Smith.

Can we stop pretending like having played NFL games makes you some kind of irreplaceable asset? We're talking about a fucking backup too.

Let me get it straight.... If Petty plays well, Jets should consider trading him for a 4th.
    So....

2 years ago Jets got a developmental QB. Developed him to the point he is good for at least a backup position. Then traded him for a 4th pick.
In other words, Jets spend 2 years developing someone else's QB, for free...

    yeah, that makes sense

Also if we trade BP we will have 1 QB under contract at the end of the year and that is Hackenberg. Considering what happened this off season that is very risky. If Petty proves worthy Geno is the guy to trade.

Great post. In my original post I said his experience gives him a leg up on Petty. That is true. However, if you haven't learned from the experience, it means nothing.

For every Mark Sanchez, there is an inexperienced backup that should not see the field like a Ryan Lindley. That argument works both ways.

Petty and Geno are the same age. We definitely could get more for Petty, that's not a reason to trade him over Geno.

I always thought game 3 of ps was when you fined tuned your starters and seconds, yanking Geno early seemed odd.

Geno is part of the reason why there is a shortage of quality QBs in the NFL.

With our shaky O-line, Fitz can be killed even if he doesn't learn how to slide.

    How does Geno like Minnesota?

Teddy Bridgewater was reportedly hurt at Vikings practice today - potentially a serious knee injury - he was taken away in an ambulance.

The Jets might have exactly what the Vikings need in exchange for a 3rd Round pick (escalate to a 2nd Round Pick if the Vikes make the playoffs and Geno plays the majority of snaps this season).

If the Vikings give a 3rd/2nd for Geno Smith the whole league would question their sanity. He could probably be acquired for a 7th rounder

    Let's make it a 4th (potentially escalating to a 3rd)...

Fingers crossed Bridgewater isnt injured, though it sounds bad. All the Vikings have is Shawn Hill so yes they will be in the market.

Probably right, but it has become more of a sellars market in the last week

Some insanely unrealistic trade value expectations going on in here.

Not looking good for Teddy sadly ... though I doubt we get more than a 6th for GeNo

Well demand is on the rise. :)

    Cowboys, Vikes...anybody else?

Maybe it's wise to hold on to four tho. Really

6th escalating to a 5th, throw in sack of balls and 10 rolls of tape. . .
