I did. But Geno appeared relaxed to me for the first time. I thought that TB might have told him he's the #2 in private and he wanted to give more work to Petty, and give Hack a taste of some live work. I'm totally guessing about the Geno scenario.
For the record, I want Geno to succeed because more good QBs is a good problem to have. I just no longer believe he will become any good.
That's not the only scenario that results in Geno being cut. If FO needs a roster spot and can carry only 3 QBs, Geno is the odd man out. There were pretty compelling scenarios posted on keeping 4 QBs, at the expense of TE for example, so I think they might carry 4.
No Geno does not belong on this roster if it means cutting abetter football player. You want to field your best players. It is pretty damn clear that you want Geno of Fitz it is also clear that no one in tier right mind think Fitz is nothing more then a bridge player till we fins that qb and that qb is not Geno his stats and plays speak for him. Your own statement sums up exactly why you want Geno because you dislike Fitz so much call him fitztragic. This is not about Fitz and Geno either. I'll admit Fitz may not get this team to the playoffs but in all damn certainty Geno sure the hell isn't. Geno has played more bad games then good Geno has more career turnovers then tds, he continues to make the same bad choices over and over again, but yet people want him to start again. Based on what please tell us why? Because it is not based on facts, it is also not based on his play. So pelase tell us why because you and a few other people have a hunch or a feeling? He needs the change of scenery, this team needs to move on also. Petty has out performed him not even close. You would have aexpected a 4th yr player with 30 starts not to make the same mistakes as Petty but he did. This is not about Hack over Petty so do not change the argument the fact is Petty has played better then Geno and if carry 4 qbs at the price of cutting a better player because you want Geno on the roster for one more yr that is a bad choice. That is not being blinded by anything but making a rational decision.
http://www.ganggreennation.com/2016...cks-had-to-say-after-preseason-loss-to-giants No comments from Geno?
We'd roast him because he has been in this league for four years while Hack has only played less than one half of a preseason game.
I hear that for sure, but if Fitz got hurt, Geno got hurt, I would certainly want Petty to start over Hackenberg. Not close right now. That is why I asked.
Smith is not going to be the Jets starter this year or any year in the future. He is in the last year of his contract and no chance he will resigns with the Jets, or that the Jets will consider giving him a long term contract. His attitude is piss poor and he has never shown that he can be a starting QB, never mind he can't lead himself out of a paper bag.
Trade Geno to the Cowboys. Make it happen Maccag! Conditional 6th becomes a 5th if he meets certain performance measures.
Conditional Geno Performance Measure: -Avoid 3 INTs in a game 5 times in a season -Don't get punched in the face during practice
Even though it wouldn't be stipulated in the trade, the Jets accept a 7th from the Cowboys after Geno plays a game.
Remember all the posters calling for the Jets to trade for Kaepernick in the offseason. Dodged a bullet there. Jets wouldn't have been able to live down that drama.
Geno needs to back up QB's like Newton, Talor or Wilson. He's that kind of QB but not as good. Bowles and Mac have already decided they want a conventional type QB by getting Fitz and then drafting Petty and Hackenberg. Geno doesn't belong here, so I think they will cut him if they don't trade him by tomorrow. At least, that would make sense. Ron
