I can see some of those teams taking a step back. Saints, Falcons, Steelers, Carolina, and the AFC South. All of those teams will be better than this year I agree. I'm confident in the defense, but man in order to contend we will need a lot of work on offense.
The AFC south game will either be Indy or Tennessee. The AFC West game will be Chargers or Raiders. Since Miami will likely lose to NE, a Jet win over Buffalo would give the Jets 2nd in the division and Indy and SD, which is much tougher than Tennessee and Oakland.
Personally, I would want my GM to come from a team with a quick turnaround. Think Seattle, redskins, or colts. All of those teams were doormats last year and in the playoff picture his year. Seattle is a team I would want us to emulate
If the jets lose this week they will be last, giving them cheifs and jags. They will not win! Let them lose and get a better pick and better opponents!
On the plus side we may have a top 3 pick in the 2014 draft if there are any good QB prospects coming out - ah who am I trying to kid, this is the Jets, you just know that if we had the #1 overall pick there would be precisely 0 good QB prospects and then 3 the following year.
I'm not suggesting crowd sourcing it at all. I'm suggesting computerizing our entire management structure including the draft, contracts, play calling, fitness by position, training by position, the entire program. It's time to take all emotion out of the equation. That's what Woody attempted to do when he hired Tannenbaum an accountant to manage the team. Unfortunately personal relationships impact human behavior.
I don't think that's too far out of an idea. It would take a real innovator to really commit to it and implement it, but it could change the game all together if you were able to tweak it right.
Yikes. Hard to imagine going any better than .500 there. Maybe we should stick with Sanchez for another year, just for the sake of picking in the top 5. Just another reason why Tanny needs to go.
Seriously? We're already freaking out over next year's schedule? If Miami finishes ahead of us, we have Cleveland, Tampa, Carolina, Miami, Miami, Buffalo, Buffalo, Oakland/SD and Indy/Tennessee? The other games look a little harder, but are we seriously freaking out about next season's schedule? Come on. Yes, on paper, we might play the toughest divisions in each conference. But who knows if that will actually play out. Everyone saw the NFC West on paper this season and thought it was a joke, now Seattle and SF may be the two best teams in the NFC with St. Louis not being bad either. NFC West this year was tougher than the NFC South.
Damn I didn't even realize that Buff could jump them. I think conference wins comes before common games and Buff would take the edge in conf wins with a win.
Yeah it's ridiculously early to look at next year's schedule. Pats will be in the same boat but with tougher other games.
What is the common denominator here? Rookie QBs who have set NFL performance records. 2 of which were locks and 1 in which the Seahawks struck gold (we'll see in a few years). The Jets will completely fuck up the QB they take if they take one.
:shit:Jets need to keep Tanny on payroll, let him run the $$$money$$$....But Jets need a new, real, Top-Notch & qualified NFL Personnel guy to handle the player talent....But, everybody knows this...!!!....lol:rofl:
