You see how happy they are on the sidelines right now? Pros never want to tank, no matter what it means to the fanbase. I totally understand. Sucks as a fan…ha
It was the perfect tank game for the Jets. This whole season has been about making the fanbase absolutely miserable. They succeeded in that for the first 13 weeks of the season and then, when there were dreams of a #2 overall pick and Marvin Harrison Jr. (or whoever else people around here wanted), the offense just decides, on a whim, to come out and actually play, just to dash those hopes.
Remember that and this game when you see Zach roaming next year's sidelines for a second year in a row as Rodgers' hand picked "let's not give up on the kid just yet" backup.
He's going to be here regardless of what he does the rest of the year. Douglas hasn't admitted yet that he made a mistake, despite all of the evidence sitting out there in plain view. Why do we as a fanbase just assume that he's going to wake up at the end of the Patriots game and decide to move on from his pet project? Until Douglas admits the mistake, I have to go by what he's done in the past, which is to double down on Zach Wilson at every inflection point in the kid's career.
I can not seriously root against the Jets. I'm glad they won. If it was the game 16 or 17, maybe......
Naw. Texans on the road, stud rookie WR out, Nico Collins goes out early, rookie QB, rookie head coach, rain, Jets D great against the pass. Everything pointed towards a Jets win, even when it was 0 - 0 at half.......
Same could have been said for the Raiders game. And the Chargers game. And the Falcons game. This team has given us absolutely no reason to expect them to win any given week at all this season.
It's been odd. Jets have faired better against teams with a winning records: Bills, Eagles, Chiefs and Texans. Broncos probably gonna have a winning record by end of the season too.
The Jets have ALWAYS played down to their competition. This win was so “same ole’ Jets” it’s not even funny. This team will NEVER have a FQB…EVER!!!
And this won't change no matter where the Jets pick in the draft, no matter who the GM or HC happens to be, or anything else. Get used to it.
The Jets have the 3rd ranked DVOA defense. It was always unrealistic that they would lose out. They won’t beat a Miami type team, but Ridder, Stroud with no receivers, Howell, Flacco, Zappe? You knew they’d win a couple of those.
Well, the tank WAS on. Now the "will the Jets believe the hype and bring Zach Wilson back" watch begins in earnest. He has another game or two like this, even if they're not consecutive, we're screwed.
He’s gone. If anything a couple of more games like this the Jets may actually recoup a draft pick for him.
