Yeah I think it was a mistake. I thought we gave up quite a bit and had all the leverage because of his money. I'm just tired of seeing this obsession with Jones when the guy wasn't even rated on their board so the pick swap had no impact on them actually selecting Jones when they would have just taken WMD at 13 instead of 15. This talking point is as annoying as the people blaming the OL for Rodgers getting hurt when it was obvious on the film Rodgers held the ball. Just to edit this in -- I've been very anti JD. I think he has been piss poor in his time here and hasn't solved QB and hasn't solved OL. The guy is what, 24 and 55 now as a GM? I don't think he is good at his job.
Even forgetting the pick swap though don't you find it concerning that JD grossly overpaid in a trade and then didn't rate the guy at the major position of need who is playing well, and most people wanted?
You would. Just like you would also put your absolute faith in reality tv being real, and chalk anything up trying to apply some actual expanded rationalization on that as "tin foil hat". Like i implied earlier, it's not just the FO here that has been willfully ignorant of any direct acknowledgement on a lot of the various offseason fails that were playing out this past offseason. Lots of our fans were and remain just as guilty imo in the name of gulping down that koolaid
because it doesn't support your stance? Of course Zach has shown "progression".... could he really get worse than he was last year?
Absolutely. I'm in agreement. I wanted OL or WR. Mind boggling to me that we spent that capital on a pass rusher who is lost on our depth chart.
Yeah man. Just because I'll side with the video over some random dude on a Jets message board means I put my "absolute faith in reality tv being real". Get real.
I am not taking a stance. Sam and Zach's third year Zach has been better stat-wise and we got a 2nd for Sam.
Joe Douglas (if he’s still here) can use that in his trade pitch. we should be able to get a 2nd or more for Zach Wilson no problem with that line of thinking lol
Joe Douglas has pulled out a few solid trades and the now legendary Jamal Adams trade. I would consider a 2nd round pick for Zach Wilson to be up there with the Adams trade.
You actually added 7 more wins to his record since it has the 2019 season when he didn’t do the draft or the free agency but to fair - he missed on zack wilson and then brought in a HOF (got hurt) he invested plenty in the draft and FA for the O-line (everyone got hurt) if he drafted 5 lineman in the first round and signed 5 of the best FA guys to be backups and it wouldn’t matter if they they got hurt I’m with u the record sticks but atleast he hits on talent. They just have to stay healthy
