This thread is perfect for this (tebowmania) forum. It's filled with plenty of brilliant teboi like thoughts and ideas.
Actually, I think I did, because it's a simple fact of quarterback mechanics that a football heavyweight like yourself doesn't seem to comprehend. The Jets have one of the worst right tackles in the league at the right side of their line. Bad enough that he almost got Sanchez killed in 2011, strongside or not. Tebow is a lefty. What the fuck about that do you not comprehend? You really don't know shit about this team, our even care to, do you?
Yeah, his stats would have been much worse but Timmie got away with a lot early on because teams hadn't figured out how to defend him. Well, that'll change this season if he actually gets to play QB because teams know how to defend him. That's why he went 1-4 in his last 5 games. Right. Tebow's crappy mechanics and abysmal accuracy are all somebody else's fault! Willis McGahee has been a solid 1000 yard rusher for most of his career, which predates the arrival of Timmy Tebow. That's the "run game" Denver had, you asshat! With defenses worried about a real QB throwing for TDs rather than a fullback running for a few yards, McGahee might have a career year in 2012. :rofl2: If "Rex" wanted a RB so bad, maybe he should have tried trading for McGahee rather than for Timmie.
Tebots inhabit an alternative universe where up is down and good is bad. Therefore, the crappy QB they worship is great.
You don't trade up in the 2nd simply cause a wr can block. this board is out of control. Yeah tebow had everything to do with the coples pick. Nothing to do with a defensive coach and a unathletic front 7. Hill has uncoachable size and speed to make sure holmes doesn't get double teamed all the time and open up the middle of the field for kerley and keller by taking the top off defenses. He benefits the whole offense not tim tebow. How people can't see this is ridiculous
Seriously, you're explaining blind side again? Really? Anyway -- your example illustrates that the right tackle has to perform for a righty as well, even though it's not a righty's blind side. More often than not, the left tackle faces the premier speed rushers in the league, with no tight end. That's why it's more important as a position even if you have a lefty QB (right now, Philly only). Just answering your "honest" question honestly. Defenses don't flip their rush for a lefty, so it changes very little in pass protection approach.
What??? Grasping at straws are we? Tim Tebow DID NOT pass for 17 TDs and 9 picks in his first season, that's his career total. He was 5 and 3 passing. WTF. What a absolutely terrible comparison. First 16 starts is NOT the same as first season, stop making irrational comparisons. 2383 is his career passing total. Are you saying he didn't throw a single pass in a game he didn't start? Jets fans...
The problem with that reasoning is that if the first season is looked at, he beat the others even more handily in passer rating (82) and YPA (7.98). So the critique of doing that would be the sample size being too small to declare Tebow statistically superior to others. The inclusion of the other games, to reach a total of 16 games for all, helps to level out the sample size.
Teams line the tight end up on either side of the line, depending on the play. I don't think I have seen a team only line the TE on the right side in like two decades. If you wanted to argue a term becoming obsolete, you would do better to argue against the term 'Strongside'. I feel like I am talking to a child that just got their copy of Madden '93 and needs help understanding those little blips on the screen. NFL defenses flips their schemes all the time, watch an Eagles game and see how they defend Vick. What the fuck football have you been watching?
That's not really accurate. Teams attack the passer from all different directions, but it is much more rare for the actual personnel to switch sides. The elite pass rushers, by and large, come from the same side every time. (Whether their side is left or right, they don't often switch). The point is that the left side is an extremely attacked side even when a lefty is in -- doesn't mean lefty factor is a non-factor, but it greatly reduces it's signficance. Another way of putting it -- if the Jets were to make a move to improve the right tackle position, it doesn't mean that they're planning for Tebow. Sanchez also needs protection from both sides. (I'm sure you'd agree with this point, or you will inevitably echo it when the Jets inevitably address the right tackle position).
What a shock, all the usual dildos show up to circle jerk each other. I can't wait to call out all of you pole smokers. Have a nice night!
Tebow took one of the worst running teams in the NFL and made them the best in the NFL overnight. He did this with a very mediocre run game around him and oline. That dominant run game allowed the Broncos aging veteran defense tons of rest. The Broncos did have a lot of three and outs but this is because Fox ran the safest offense imaginable.. the only way he could do that was because of Tebow's dominant running and ability to pass the ball deep. Tebow's own running ability also protected him in the pocket. The reason Tebow looked so poor offensively is the same reason they controlled time of possession and allowed the D to rest.. if you play that slow methodical style it kills your offense and the opposing offense. But Tebow was still able to provide offense even playing that offensive suicide style and he didn't turn the ball over. At the end of the season when the Broncos struggled it was because their only decent runner outside of Tebow was injured. The Broncos went from being one-dimensional running the ball to zero dimensional. Wasn't Tebow's fault tho.. the pass game was screwed with Orton too. Look how well Orton played on the Chiefs tho... beat the Packers. Tebow would have outplayed Orton on the Chiefs too.. just like he will outplay Sanchez on the Jets.
They couldn't defend him on an awful team with no receivers and a weak run game... he went 1-4 because McGahee was injured. Tebow's a great player.. but contrary to belif he's not an actual miracle worker. Dawkins was injured then too.. Tebow outplayed Orton who people said was a good Qb.. he mist be doing something right. He did that under far worse circumstances too.
I won't say that this pick was "for Tebow". But I do feel that Tebow is best at the deep ball, which bodes well for them to have a connection. Sanchez is more of a small ball player, but that doesn't mean they'll never hook up.
Loser, you will be permabanned before you ever have a chance to gloat when Tebow throws one of his wounded ducks for a rare completion.
That's not really accurate, as it depends on the DC running the schemes. Ask CowboyFan, Rob Ryan had Ware attacking from all over the line last season. The days of one dimensional pass rushers is almost at an end. The reason the best pass rushers have rushed from the left is... wait for it... because the majority of quarterbacks tend to be RIGHT HANDED. Hence the attack on the... BLINDSIDE! And I didn't even read the book! The Jets are bound to address the right side with a FA stopgap at some point. But you have ignored the true Manning behind my initial question. If they planned on making God's Gayboy the starter at any point this season, why didn't they address that position with any urgency? Which of course you will respond to without ant understanding in the idea that a QB has a blind spot in his field of vision when taking snaps under center. Rinse, repeat.
